does anyone remember how to make a crocheted hot pad with the plastic rings 6 packs of beverages?

I have crocheted around them but am having trouble shaping it?

you chain the same number that you did stitches around the rings,

dc in third chain and every chain to the end.

overlap your rings in a circle

weave the strip of dc through the overlaped portion

sew the ends together and bury the ends

Thanks for reminding me of this pattern. Have a couple of boxes of the old rubber canning rings. (rubber still good, not rotten.) Remember making them when i was first married. They wern't very good, the yarn used was acrillic (sp?) and did not stand up well under hot pots. I'll try using the 'dishcloth' cotton. I think that will work very well. Jan.
