  1. hello! i'm still new to the crochet world and i'm learning the bobble stitch right now.. this pattern is really confusing to me, here is how it goes: R13: 3ch, 3tr, *bobble st on 2 stitches, 2tr*. repeat *...* 4x to get 5 bobbles. crochet 4 tr, work 2 st together, 3tr, work 2 st together. this pattern is used with UK terminology so it's actually tr=double. i'm confused about the commas, is it 3ch and 3 double crochets in the SAME stitch or are we separating stitches? and bobble on 2 stitches, does it mean i do a bobble stitch on two consecutive stitches or is it a different kind of bobble stitch? it's also confusing because this part of the pattern doesn't mention how many stitches are counted in each round.. thank you in advance, sorry if this is out of context, this is the only part of the pattern i'm confused about, hopefully it's enough information.
  2. Hello, I need help identifying the pattern and stitch. I have been asked to make this blanket for my next grandchild. I found this picture on Flickr (
  3. I don't know if this makes sense or not but I have an amigurumi pattern that I want to do, and I want to make it twice the size. So I was wondering if it was possible to somehow 'double' the stitch pattern? Thank you for any help that you can give.
  4. Hello. I have a granny square inquiry. I'm making a valance for my kitchen window. I've made several sunflower granny squares, and was thinking to put one at the bottom, next row would be 2, next 3, and so forth, with a square in the middle of the top to attach the two sides. I have no problem connecting squares together, my question is this: Is there any way to attach granny squares to a single/double/triple ect. stitch? Say you're making a row by row throw blanket and want to add squares to the design, is this possible? I can figure out how to attach the top and bottom of the square, it's the middle stitches that are giving me fits trying to keep everything straight. I don't even know if what I'm attempting is even possible, but any help would be totally appriciated. Thank you.
  5. I was given this sample to make a baby blanket but I can’t figure out how to do the stitch. It seems like it’s an overlay but all connected. The pictures show both sides of the work. Does anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately the original crafter is not known. Thank you for your help!! Ann
  6. I’m trying to make a pattern that has a multicolor design (it’s a leopard gecko with a yellow top and a white belly) and instructions say to make a magic ring of 6 with 3 white stitches and two yellows. How on earth do I do this??? I can’t find any tutorial on how to make a two colored magic ring let alone make a round that the colors swap so frequently to maintain the solid colored underbelly look... does anyone have advice???
  7. Out of curiosity, what is your favorite go-to crochet stitch? I was thinking of this because, now that my blanket is done, I've been crocheting squares with the leftover yarn, using my favorite stitch, the wattle stitch ("V" stitches - sc, ch 1, dc). So, what is everyone's favorite stitch?
  8. Per your request I am introducing myself. I live in New Mexico and I first picked up a crochet hook at about 13 years old. This week I decided to pick up a crochet project I started several years back thinking I knew the stitch that I was using but was apparently wrong. 😞 Now I have about a yard of fabric completed and cannot continue. So I thought I would look for some assistance online and that led me to your site. Please let me know if you think you might be able assist. I am attaching a photo of the work I've done to see if you can tell what kind of stitch I was using. I wasn't using a "formal pattern or stitch". I just knew I would like an afghan for my living room and decided to crochet it myself with a simple stitch that I "thought" was a simple double crochet. Obviously that was incorrect since when I added a couple rows of double crochet it did not match my previous work. I have looked through a lot of crochet photographs and have found nothing similar in appearance to what I did previously. I really like, not only the appearance of the previous work but I love the soft drape of it and it feels exactly like what I wanted when I started the whole project. I have also ripped out several rows in an attempt to deconstruct what I was doing previously but I am just not experienced enough to figure it out. I would appreciate any help or guidance that can be provided. On the first photograph I have circled an area where there is a diagonal thread on the back side that creates a small opening. That opening is skipped and I was stitching into the next "opening/stitch". I'm pretty sure I was wrapping the thread over the hook and inserting it in the next stitch but from there I'm lost. Thank you, Patricia
  9. I’m using N hook with Homespun Thick & Quick yarn. My problem is that I don’t understand the last bit of round 1 where it says “hdc in top of beginning ch-2 - 4 corner ch-2 space”. It’s tge “4 corner” direction that has me perplexed—what is it asking me to do? I added a picture of the directions. Thanks!
  10. Can anyone tell me what type of crochet stitch is being used here in the light green area (above the pink on the wrist). It looks like possibly 3 dc stitches in one hole, but I'm wondering if anyone knows more? Thank you!
  11. My grandmother's aunt made this for her a long time ago. I want to make one for my mom but I'm not sure what these stitches are. The pattern looks complicated but I love it! I really just need the names of the stitches and I can easily look them up, but if someone wants to try to explain them to me I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
