  1. Thank you very much, Darski, for allowing me to be part of Crochetville. I like the name and the way the site is set up. I am a by-the-book gal and appreciate the order and structure plus the effort which has gone into your site. I am happy to meet everyone and the other members who are presently joining. I apologize but my uploads failed because they are too large with the full pattern.
  2. I made the purse and wallet as gifts for my mom. The scrub tops are for my daughter, she bought the fabric and I did the sewing.
  3. Now you can be an Angel even if you don't do Facebook! Please join us at our new Rav group! http://www.ravelry.com/groups/aubreys-angels-charity-crochet-knitting-quilting-sewing-and-crafts We would love to meet you, hear what craft you enjoy most, what you are working on, answer any questions you might have, and maybe join our blanket drive!
  4. Aubrey’s Angels is non profit, charitable ministry, in San Antonio built of love, to help meet the very special needs of precious sick babies and parents who are in need of a smile. We want each family to know, without a doubt, that there are people who love their tiny angels, are praying for them, and want to help by crocheting, sewing, knitting, and quilting hats, booties, afghans, mitts, angel layettes (burial layettes), diaper shirts, etc. working from home. We also make afghans, lap blankets, and chemo caps for chemo and dialysis patients in San Antonio. You dont have to live close to participate! We also make parent bags for moms and dads who spend an enormous amount of time in the hospital waiting room. Thank you and God Bless you for helping me continue this ministry! The group is named after my precious grandaughter, Aubrey, who left us to be with Jesus on March 18, 2011 at the age of 9 months. If you would like to join us or just drop by to see what we are doing and look around, please visit us at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/192813870824207/ New Angels are always welcome!!!
  5. So I'm working on making a small purse. I have a few rectangle pieces that I will be sewing together with yarn and a yarn needle. The corners are curling a fair amount, so I want to make sure I block them all. My question is, is it better to... A) Sew all the pieces together, then block the entire thing B) Block all the pieces individually, then sew all the pieces together C) Pin the pieces together, block while pinned, and then sew pieces together. Also, if it makes a difference, I'm using Red Heart Value yarn. So the basic and cheap worsted weight yarn made of acrylic. Its a bit rougher and has a little more of a ridged drape then other nicer but more expensive yarns. And while I'm here asking, if you could also tell me what the best method of blocking to use would be, that would be great! Thank you!
  6. HI All, We are looking to create immediate comfort care packages to give to kids who are in the process of being removed from their homes due to neglect, abuse or domestic violence. This project was started by a good friend of mine, Amy A. We will be donating these items to The Department of Human Serives in Cedar Rapids, IA. We have a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ProjectWarmFuzzy?ref=ts&fref=ts Myself, I am a crocheter and looking for help with blankets. I will be collecting 8x8 and 12x12 squares to make into blankets. You can also donate 36x36 and 36x40 size blankets. Please consider on making a square or 2. We are aslo taking donations of toys. These can be handmade!! If you have any questions at all, please PM me. You can also check out the facebook page and ask questions on there too. Thank you so much. The kids will be so happy on getting these blankets and toys. This is an on going project. Melanie H.
