If you love to make purses and totes, it would be convenient for you to learn how to make your own straps and handles. Even if you have the money to buy commercial handles, there might be a project for which you might not find "just" the right one to match the colors that you used. And just like the crocheters who learn how to make buttons so that they could always match the buttons to a jacket or cardigan, you will find that making your own handles is not only more economical, but more creative, fun and liberating! Tazia is a round braid that can be tailored to any color scheme you might use for a bag or tote. You will find the free tutorial here: http://craftypursenalityshoppe.blogspot.com/2013/04/tazia.html#.UXixP6JJ6mA Enjoy! Clotilde

Suzanne is our second round braid to be used as a purse handle. It can be coordinated with the colors you have chosen for your purse or made to contrast, for example, if you make a black bag and buy for it some wooden purse rings, then you can make the braid in earthy tones to combine with the rings and contrast the back, terracotta and brick tones with a single black rope interwoven into the mix would look just lovely and you can save oodles on commercial purse handles! 3. Hi Everyone! This one is a real piece of cake and it is very good looking. If you love to make bags, purses and totes and do not always have that "special handle" on hand or find that they are too pricey in your area, this type of handle will do the trick of making your work look pretty at very little effort and cost. You will find the FREE tutorial here: http://craftypursenalityshoppe.blogspot.com/2011/10/betsys-woven-purse-handle.html
  4. A very, very easy purse strap that would look great on a tote! You will find the free tutorial on how to make it here: http://craftypursenalityshoppe.blogspot.com/2012/01/jasmins-strap.html Enjoy! Clotilde
  5. Sometimes a vibrant and pretty purse handle is what a bag needs to give it an extra punch. This one is so very easy to make and it can be as bright as you want it to!
