  1. Hello! I’m a workin mama of 2.5 yr old identical twin girls down in Texas! I love to crochet - got into it last year around Christmas time when my sister gifted me all her supplies! Also she gave me a bunch of hand embroidery supplies too. I love to do the repetitive work with my hands I guess - seems constant and calm compared to working full time and raising toddlers! Excited to gain inspiration and support from the group. Cheers!
  2. Hello all - I've lived in Washington State for two years now, and prior to that raised four children in Fort Collins CO. Then they moved and most of them are here in Washington state - so when I retired I moved too. I've been crocheting for over 50 years, as well as knitting. I prefer crocheting because it's faster for me. I've made afghans, booties, stuffed animals, doilies and lots of other things as well. I'm involved in making things for the Senior Center in our town and really enjoy it, especially since I have more time for it.
  3. I made a few hats thanks to a YouTube tutorial and I want to make a bag/purse type thing. I'm married, 24, and have a baby girl.

    Hi

Hi, I’m so happy I found your site. I have been crocheting for years and I still feel like a beginner. I’m self taught by watching my mother and now YouTube.
  5. Hi, I'm new to crochet and so far so good but now stuck on a pattern step. Say: rounds 8-12 dc all sts (42 sts). Does this mean 42 sts in total or 5x rounds of 42? Picture for ref
  6. Hi there, my name is Liz and I am fairly new to crocheting. I taught myself how to crochet a few months ago by watching youtube videos. I am a left-handed crocheter! I absolutely have fallen in love with crocheting and love trying new stitches and patterns. I really hope to increase my crocheting skills and get some ideas on here for future projects. I am glad to be here!
  7. Hi everyone, I've been crocheting for about 20+ years. It's only been in the last 10 years that I have been entering into the local show. I have been collecting Mary Cards crochet charts for a number of years now as I just love her designs..
  8. Hi, I'm quite new to crochet and I've been stumped by the first step in this pattern:ch 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 29, 32, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, and across (18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 28, 31 total sts)I just don't know what the list of numbers mean, what do you do after you've made a chain of 19?

  10. I am in the process of making a crochet blog. I already know what platform I am going to use. I know I want to post patterns I create, and possibly sell some of the patterns through the blog. What I am wondering is what are some other things I can post about and should I make my first post an introduction post? I have never blogged before and don't much about blogging especially making crochet the main topic of choice. I need all the advise i can get. thanks.
  11. Hi there ???? I'm Heather and I've recently got back into crochet after a bit of a break (18 years!). I'm focusing on small projects at the moment as I do have a tendency to get bored - two half finished jumpers will testify to that - hats, scarves, earwarmers and a baby snuggle sack (I've attached a pic of the snuggle sack in this post - it was inspired by the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar") are the order of the day. I'm also dabbling with a bit of wire crochet, although it's a bit hard on the hands so I tend just to do a little bit here and there. I'm looking forward to chatting with you and drooling over your projects ???? Heather

  14. Hi every one! I'm Ashley, I love to crochet. I have been crocheting since i was 15 but am still learning. I was taught by a neighbor. she started me off on the granny square as its pretty much the easiest to learn. I like attempting new patterns i've never done before. I joined this forum hoping to learn new tricks i didn't know and new patterns i've never done.

  17. Hello! I have been crocheting for about a year and a half. My grandmother tried to teach me a long time ago (I am 25 now) but I didn't have the patience or ability to focus back then! I own four animals, 2 cats and 2 dogs, which is really fun when I try to relax! Haha. I have crocheted afghans, lapghans, coasters, hats, cat toys, bottle holders, wash cloths, and pot holders. I enjoy the lapghans the most! I also have an issue with buying too much yarn for projects I haven't even started yet, oops! I don't know if anyone else has the problem of being too pattern picky, but I am! Well, that's all I can think of writing for now! Oh! I am currently working on a lapghan and I love making granny square afghans!
  18. Hi all I am new here and am excited about making some new connections and sharing and learning from others h
  19. Hey there crazy crochet people! J My name is Lena, I am 29 years old and live in a small German town near the French border. I love to crochet and to listen to podcasts and audio books while doing it. When I’d had to choose one thing to do for the rest of my life it would be this Some months ago I developed the wish to connect and to publish about crochet without any exact idea of how I’d like to do this. So I thought it was a good idea to become part of a crochet community as my first strike. When it comes to crochet I’m a self-taught person. This is about 8 years ago. Since then I crocheted a lot but the most of it doesn’t exist anymore. This is not because of a big flute or a burned house or some other unpleasant catastrophe It is because of my strange habit to unstitch my work almost all the time because it is not like I wanted it to be or I didn’t like it at all. So I decided to just go on crochet patterns I like with yarns I like without any special purpose. And this works well. At the moment I’m thinking about having my own blog where I show and explain crochet patterns to other people. I know there are a lot of these but I just want to try it. Sorry for my strange (bad…) English. XXX Lena
  20. Howdy everyone! I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself: My name is Debra Lee. I'm a SAHM who migrated from Texas to Florida a few years ago. My two favorite hobbies include crocheting and gardening (among baking, cooking, and drawing). I'm also a newbie at blogging. My blog is titled, "Handmade Crochet Boutique." It's about my recent and upcoming crochet projects, easy/free crochet patterns created by myself, and tips and tricks to help the everyday Crocheter along their way. I hope to get to meet you all here on Crochetville.com! I'm always looking forward to meeting new people, and learning new crochet techniques and patterns.
  21. Hello! I recently taught myself crochet by watching online tutorials on YouTube. I sometimes have questions on what type of hooks and yarn I can use for various projects. Since I'm very new to crochet I thank anyone who can give me any kind of tips and tricks I can utilize. Thank you!
  22. I'm new to crochet, my mom taught me about 2 or 3 weeks ago and I have done wristers and a small purse to hold my cell phone.i want to work something bigger now and am starting a throw, but I'm confused. The pattern is... beg at center of throw, ch 76. Rd.1 beg in second ch from hook, sc in second ch and in each ch across to last ch; work 3 SC in last ch to turn corner; working along opposite side of beg ch, sc in rem loop of each of next 73 ch, work 2 SC in last ch, end by joining MC with a slight st in first sc. So, where I get confused is when it says sc in rem loop of each of next 73 ch, work 2 SC in last ch..... when I'm at the last ch in the beginning, do I put 3 addtl sc or 3 total, and when I work around the corner, it is the opposite side of my ch, so there are 76 ch, not 73, am I supposed to skip any ch?
  23. Hello my name is Daphne and I am new here to the forum. I chose the user name because I am a huge Star Trek fan and have been for a big part of my life and I was born in 1979. The only crocheting I have done so far was a dog sweater for my chihuahua but id really didn't turn out the way I wanted and was way too bulky for her, so I haven't had her wear it. However, it was quite pretty. I hope to do much more in the future! I want to do a lot of animals and perhaps an afgan for my son and myself. This was the first forum I found when searching for a forum so I quickly joined. Thank you so much for having me. I look forward to reading all the discussion....
