  2. I am new to crochet and I found this adorable llama that I've been working on for a few days now, I'm at a road block and I need help. The round I'm on says this, "Ch 14, sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in next 12 ch, sc in next 18 sc, sc in the next 12 sc - 44 sc" I have no clue what to do after the sc in the 12 chains that I made, where does the 18 sc come from? Does anyone understand this? Please help 😥
  3. I am very new to crocheting but I am making a baby blanket. I am doing an striped Alpine stitch with Caron simply soft yarn. My problem or question is when I switch colors the back side has an obvious dash like moris code - - - -is this how it should be? My colors are gray and white so it really stands out.. I would greatly appreciate any help.
  4. Sup, y’all? My name is Callie and I’ve been crocheting for about five years. My aunt taught me after I learned to knit, and... I’ve pretty much given up knitting 😂 I’m from the panhandle of Florida, but have lived in Iowa for the last almost ten years. I’m a pharmacy technician at a hospital and I’ve picked up my crochet hook a lot more recently to help combat stress from the COVID-19 pandemic after work and to also try to craft things to help myself and my fellow healthcare workers.
  5. hi everyone my name is Toni Marie, I’m a self taught from YouTube hooker. joined here because lockdown has gave me the chance to crochet more and wanna meet like minded people.
  6. Hello! I’m a workin mama of 2.5 yr old identical twin girls down in Texas! I love to crochet - got into it last year around Christmas time when my sister gifted me all her supplies! Also she gave me a bunch of hand embroidery supplies too. I love to do the repetitive work with my hands I guess - seems constant and calm compared to working full time and raising toddlers! Excited to gain inspiration and support from the group. Cheers!
  7. Hello all - I've lived in Washington State for two years now, and prior to that raised four children in Fort Collins CO. Then they moved and most of them are here in Washington state - so when I retired I moved too. I've been crocheting for over 50 years, as well as knitting. I prefer crocheting because it's faster for me. I've made afghans, booties, stuffed animals, doilies and lots of other things as well. I'm involved in making things for the Senior Center in our town and really enjoy it, especially since I have more time for it.
  8. I made a few hats thanks to a YouTube tutorial and I want to make a bag/purse type thing. I'm married, 24, and have a baby girl.

I am glad to be here!

  15. I am in the process of making a crochet blog. I already know what platform I am going to use. I know I want to post patterns I create, and possibly sell some of the patterns through the blog. What I am wondering is what are some other things I can post about and should I make my first post an introduction post? I have never blogged before and don't much about blogging especially making crochet the main topic of choice. I need all the advise i can get. thanks.
  16. Hi there ???? I'm Heather and I've recently got back into crochet after a bit of a break (18 years!). I'm focusing on small projects at the moment as I do have a tendency to get bored - two half finished jumpers will testify to that - hats, scarves, earwarmers and a baby snuggle sack (I've attached a pic of the snuggle sack in this post - it was inspired by the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar") are the order of the day. I'm also dabbling with a bit of wire crochet, although it's a bit hard on the hands so I tend just to do a little bit here and there. I'm looking forward to chatting with you and drooling over your projects ???? Heather

I was taught by a neighbor. she started me off on the granny square as its pretty much the easiest to learn. I like attempting new patterns i've never done before. 22. Hello! I have been crocheting for about a year and a half. My grandmother tried to teach me a long time ago (I am 25 now) but I didn't have the patience or ability to focus back then! I own four animals, 2 cats and 2 dogs, which is really fun when I try to relax! Haha. I have crocheted afghans, lapghans, coasters, hats, cat toys, bottle holders, wash cloths, and pot holders. I enjoy the lapghans the most! I also have an issue with buying too much yarn for projects I haven't even started yet, oops! I don't know if anyone else has the problem of being too pattern picky, but I am! Well, that's all I can think of writing for now! Oh! I am currently working on a lapghan and I love making granny square afghans!
  23. Hi all I am new here and am excited about making some new connections and sharing and learning from others h
  24. Hey there crazy crochet people! J My name is Lena, I am 29 years old and live in a small German town near the French border. I love to crochet and to listen to podcasts and audio books while doing it. When I’d had to choose one thing to do for the rest of my life it would be this Some months ago I developed the wish to connect and to publish about crochet without any exact idea of how I’d like to do this. So I thought it was a good idea to become part of a crochet community as my first strike. When it comes to crochet I’m a self-taught person. This is about 8 years ago. Since then I crocheted a lot but the most of it doesn’t exist anymore. This is not because of a big flute or a burned house or some other unpleasant catastrophe It is because of my strange habit to unstitch my work almost all the time because it is not like I wanted it to be or I didn’t like it at all. So I decided to just go on crochet patterns I like with yarns I like without any special purpose. And this works well. At the moment I’m thinking about having my own blog where I show and explain crochet patterns to other people. I know there are a lot of these but I just want to try it. Sorry for my strange (bad…) English. XXX Lena
