  1. I’ve never done crotchet before and I am trying to do a dream catcher as someone got it for me for my birthday ! The instructions begin by saying “Ch 3 (in place of tr)”.. what does this mean ?!? I’ve googled everything I can and have no idea !!
  2. Hi! I'm Lucresha from Stone Mountain Ga. I learned to crochet In 4th grade I learned to read patterns in college. I have been in and out of crochet retirement. I make mostly blankets. I don't always get turns right.(See pink blanket below) The blue blanket turned out perfectly and I was my first time using that pattern. I also would like to learn a C2C blanket pattern.
  3. Hello there. Thanks for stopping by. My name is Robin, and I'm a dude hanging out in the rural U.S.A. working on college and working through some things in my life. I learnt how to crochet back in 2014 after an accident, and made a blanket and a rug for myself, but crocheting fell to wayside through high school. Now I'm in my second year of college and I've taken crocheting up again as a way to pass the time and to process some stuff going on in my life. I got a few books for my birthday and I made a pig as a practice animal. The pig's name is Oinker. Right now, I'm working on learning a few things such as a magic circle. I decided to join this forum to hopefully make some friends and to get some help with reading patterns. 😄 I hope to meet a lot of nice people here!
  4. Hello Everyone! I love to crochet, I love plants, I love to eat, and I love my dog coco.
  5. I am new to crochet and I found this adorable llama that I've been working on for a few days now, I'm at a road block and I need help. The round I'm on says this, "Ch 14, sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in next 12 ch, sc in next 18 sc, sc in the next 12 sc - 44 sc" I have no clue what to do after the sc in the 12 chains that I made, where does the 18 sc come from? Does anyone understand this? Please help 😥
  6. I am very new to crocheting but I am making a baby blanket. I am doing an striped Alpine stitch with Caron simply soft yarn. My problem or question is when I switch colors the back side has an obvious dash like moris code - - - -is this how it should be? My colors are gray and white so it really stands out.. I would greatly appreciate any help.
  7. Sup, y’all? My name is Callie and I’ve been crocheting for about five years. My aunt taught me after I learned to knit, and... I’ve pretty much given up knitting 😂 I’m from the panhandle of Florida, but have lived in Iowa for the last almost ten years. I’m a pharmacy technician at a hospital and I’ve picked up my crochet hook a lot more recently to help combat stress from the COVID-19 pandemic after work and to also try to craft things to help myself and my fellow healthcare workers.
  8. hi everyone my name is Toni Marie, I’m a self taught from YouTube hooker. joined here because lockdown has gave me the chance to crochet more and wanna meet like minded people.
  9. Hello! I’m a workin mama of 2.5 yr old identical twin girls down in Texas! I love to crochet - got into it last year around Christmas time when my sister gifted me all her supplies! Also she gave me a bunch of hand embroidery supplies too. I love to do the repetitive work with my hands I guess - seems constant and calm compared to working full time and raising toddlers! Excited to gain inspiration and support from the group. Cheers!
  10. Hello all - I've lived in Washington State for two years now, and prior to that raised four children in Fort Collins CO. Then they moved and most of them are here in Washington state - so when I retired I moved too. I've been crocheting for over 50 years, as well as knitting. I prefer crocheting because it's faster for me. I've made afghans, booties, stuffed animals, doilies and lots of other things as well. I'm involved in making things for the Senior Center in our town and really enjoy it, especially since I have more time for it.
  11. I made a few hats thanks to a YouTube tutorial and I want to make a bag/purse type thing. I'm married, 24, and have a baby girl.

  13. Hi, I'm new to crochet and so far so good but now stuck on a pattern step. Say: rounds 8-12 dc all sts (42 sts). Does this mean 42 sts in total or 5x rounds of 42? Picture for ref
  14. Hi there, my name is Liz and I am fairly new to crocheting. I taught myself how to crochet a few months ago by watching youtube videos. I am a left-handed crocheter! I absolutely have fallen in love with crocheting and love trying new stitches and patterns. I really hope to increase my crocheting skills and get some ideas on here for future projects. I am glad to be here!
