As I do not know anyone who crochets or there are no accessible local crochet&knitting groups around me I may be asking for some of your help from time to time. Thank you in advance. Hellsbellswells

  5. Hi, I've been stopping by to enjoy some of the patterns that struck my fancy and decided today I'll join. I've made several jar grippers for personal use as well as for gifting. The Phoenix afghan caught my eye as well. Just about to start on it and de-stash some yarn. I have several projects on the hook at the moment. Virus shawl; short-sleeved pullover jumper, Phoenix and will probably start something smaller between working on these projects. Been crocheting since my youth.

It looks like such fun and so much talent and information to share, I am very excited about having found it! A little about myself, okay. I am the Fiance of a former Marine, mother of two grown sons and grandmother of four - two boys, ages 8 and 18 and two girls, ages 10 and 16. I am very proud of my family and wouldn't give them up for anything in this world. I love them all, I am especially close to my oldest son and my two oldest grandchildren. My you
  11. I'm excited to be here! I'm a retired navy wife - which means my husband served 20 years in the US Navy and now we're both retired from it. We now live in Idaho where the pace is just a bit slower than we're used to. I love to crochet and it has helped me keep my sanity through all life has thrown my way. I've never had time to keep up with any groups, though, so I'm excited to have more time that's mine now and to be involved with the things I love. You all seem so wonderful here. I think this is going to be a great place to be. I've noticed many of you have "Proud Bag Lady", "2
  12. Hi, I am Sherri. I am a Grandma from northwest Ohio. I am relatively new to crocheting. I was taught to chain stitch, single crochet and double crochet as a child. Within the last year or so, the ladies from my Church have re-introduced me to the creative art. They do a lot of charity crocheting. I have completed several small project (somewhat successfully). I am using YouTube as a learning tool, also. I know one of my problems is learning to gage. Sherri
  13. Hello, I am a Senior in High School who is learning how to Crochet for my Senior Project. So far, I have learned that I prefer metal hooks and shopping for yarn is way to fun. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for a new learner like me because I sometimes get stressed about making everything look perfect. So glad I found this place.

  16. Hello my name is Daphne and I am new here to the forum. I chose the user name because I am a huge Star Trek fan and have been for a big part of my life and I was born in 1979. The only crocheting I have done so far was a dog sweater for my chihuahua but id really didn't turn out the way I wanted and was way too bulky for her, so I haven't had her wear it. However, it was quite pretty. I hope to do much more in the future! I want to do a lot of animals and perhaps an afgan for my son and myself. This was the first forum I found when searching for a forum so I quickly joined. Thank you

  18. Hello all, New to this forum so a short introduction. I'm from the Netherlands, but I currently live in Iceland because of work. I love to crochet and have been doing this as a hobby for several years now. Family and friends have been asking me about the dolls I crochet, and I've soled a couple as baby shower presents. And now I started getting emails about the patterns of them. Any tips for me about pattern writing or about what would be cool to have as a pattern in a etsy store? I plan to create some new original dolls, so any kind of comment is welcome. thanks, Linda

  23. I am new to crocheting but am good at knitting. I have learned how to chain and slip stitch but that is as far as I have gone in my crocheting path. I was wondering "How should I align this path so that I go gradually from begginer(like I am) to advanced(things like chainless double crochet and stuff like that)?" what is the best way to learn crochet? and it looks like your screen picture is all single crochet.
  24. Hello all... Well I have sort of made a rod for my own back. It is Dec 17th and I am planning on making a scarf for my girlfriend for Christmas. Problem is I only picked up a hook for the first time yesterday. So far I can do a clumsy chain stitch as tension is something that eludes me and I need master the single and double crochet or it's going to be a very long thin scarf. Well I'll be prowling round the forum soaking up as much info as I can and may well send out a distress call now and again.
  25. Good afternoon ladies and gents :-) hope you're all well. I'm new here, been crocheting since January and only just got the confidence to try things other than squares!
