    Hello from New Jersey!

Hello my name is Danielle. First and foremost I am 38 years old. I am very happily married to the love of my life. We have 5 beautiful children one of whom is no longer with us. My kids are my life!!! We have a 20 year old son, 17 year old daughter, 15 year old and an 11 year old son. Our Angel Mea Elizabeth passed away at 11 months and 11 days old. She would be 13 years old. Our oldest is out of the house our 17 year old leaves for college in 12 days!!! We live a very simple happy life. I wouldn't trade it for anything. My husband is a Lieutenant in Law Enforcement and I am medically retired from Law Enforcement. I was pretty lost after my spine surgeries and finding out I was going to be disabled for life. For the first 2 or 3 years I just went on with whatever things I could enjoy that I was used to doing, the problem was I didn't have a lot of hobbies that I could still do so I was pretty depressed. Then I finally realized that I needed to accept this new me and start trying to find things that would make me happy. That was when I found crochet! I loved it from day one!!! I started off knowing nothing and now I feel as if I am doing pretty well. I've been crocheting for 2 and half years now. I am in various crochet groups. Besides crochet I love my vegetable garden although I can no longer tend to it I do dictate how to plant it and then I water it and then instruct the family on when to harvest. I love to watch the fruits and veggies grow from just a little seen into something that we nourishes us. It is very cool to see it all transpire over the course of a couple months. I also LOVE to watch movies and tv series. Although alot of times I am distracted I do enjoy them very much. That about sums me up in a nutshell!!! Oh wait I LOVE to collect crochet patterns Thats about it.
  2. Hi! My name is Ivana and I have fallen in love with crochet a few years ago. I am a professor of music in music school, originaly from Croatia but I live and work in Bosnia, I love to make items from books, magazines, but also play and create my own patterns and items based on each stitch I learn. My love for crochet and crocheting still hasn`t faded a bit. Fortunately, I have managed to get all sorts of hooks, from steel ones to tunisian ones. Tunisian hooks were impossible to find here but my friend from Germany has supported my love and has sent me a set of them. I feel great to be a part of this community and hopefuly will contribute in some way. I am pregnant for the second time so I have a lot of time on my hands to play with my favorit threads and hooks, hehe! https://plus.google.com/photos/116995780643205904851/albums/5852122019752598593?authkey=CJWSg-eGmtDrggE Here is a link to a part of my work that has become in a period of 1,5 year since I have started and learned how to crochet. After that time I have paused in taking photos of my work because of the first baby. I have crocheted in every free minute during that time but for my photography sessions there was no space and time. That`s how it is sometimes. You are free to give me some advices anad suggestions or ask questions.
  3. First, I want to thank you for the amazing response I had from this Forum with my Zebra Blanket Crochet Chart pattern. I am so thankful you all loved the design so much. About a month ago, I released a new pattern into the PKC Shop. Knowing that Valentine's Day is coming up, I had to design something with that theme! Cute hearts felt perfect for this project. The Valentine Hearts Dishcloth Pattern is used with 100% cotton, in any colors you choose. I used a dark red and cream color for the photos shown in this post. There are also WRITTEN Instructions and a Crochet CHART! Therefore, you do not need to know how to crochet from a chart to complete this pattern. You can follow the Written Instructions if you prefer! There are 13 layed out pages with this pattern. Also, there is a Table of Contents that can help you find where you need to be in the pattern! Border Instructions are also included with this download. I love the border on this dishcloth because it makes this item have a vintage style (when worked in the cream main color). 9 images are placed within the pattern to help you guide you along. There is also a main section about How to Change Colors for reference for newbies. You are expected to know how to do the following when purchasing this pattern: Chain, Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet, Double Crochet, Slip Stitch. You should also be familiar with the Tapestry Crochet technique. The Quick Guide can help you along if you get stuck & I am also available during weekdays to help you out! Pictures will be attached below for your viewing pleasure. Please stop by to check out the Valentine Hearts Dishcloth Pattern in the PKC Shop! Who will you make this for on Valentine's Day? ;D Click here to visit the Valentine Hearts Dishcloth Pattern!
  4. Tonya Craig

    New Visitor to Crochetville

Hello my name is Tonya Craig From CraigLoves2Crochet I am hoping I can find a few lovely people with a small amount of time to make a huge difference to a family in USA. This story has really taken my heart and had an idea to make a recovery blanket using Granny Squares made with Love for Tracee (see link) I have also popped over to ask if you would share this very special link with as many fans as you can. We are hoping that people could spend 30 minutes to make a granny square to make a recovery blanket. I am hoping we can bring a little love to a family almost destroyed by domestic violence See Below: If you can share as many of your granny squares patterns, tutorials also to assist with the cause too. Please post on my fb page under the link so others can share. Thank you so very much in advance https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151884099924523&set=a.10150173710834523.316552.810224522&type=1&theater

    Afghan color question

I am currently trying to plan on making some afghans for some weddings past & present & future. 1 afghan I already know what I am going to do for it. There are about 3 others that I am very baffled w/. I have 2 weddings that are 1 mth apart from each other & they both have choosen a shade of purple but I am so concerned that if I use the shades of puple that they picked that the design itself won't show because it is such a dark color. Any help would be awesome.
