  1. Hello everyone, My name I Autumn. I am, since December 20 was my B-day, now 41. I have three kiddos; Brianna (20), Ricky (10), and Ashley (will be 9 in month and a half). Like to crochet, and knit a bit too. Really, I do a little of several crafts, just have phases that rotate! Like trying new crafts, or maybe new technique for an old craft. Love to bake, and candy making has pushed up recently. Hope that's what you were looking for, if not you'll get a better sense of me, in time, in any community interactions here! Looking forward to all the possibilities from this site, and maybe being able to share something I do or know back to brighten your experience here, too.

  3. Hello Everyone! I am a knitting/crocheting grandma from Kentucky and I need help! But first, let me say I am glad to be a part of this forum. I have twin (boy and girl) grandchildren aged 11 years. They have each asked for a 12-14" Lilo for Isaiah and Angel for Sadie. I have searched Ravelry and Pinterest, but cannot find exactly what I want. I understand Angel has long "tentacles" and a little Heart in purple on her backside. Has anyone come across such a pattern? I sure would appreciate hearing from you all if you have. Thanks so very much!
  4. I have been in love with this knit headband pattern for years. I have tried to reproduce it with crochet with limited success and wondered if anyone had seen a similar crochet pattern please? http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/blue-leaf-headband This is a link to the crochet version I came up with but it isn't really recreating the intricacies of the knit version. I used angled post stitches. https://instagram.com/p/BHDqv5WDoTH/ Grateful for any advice. Thanks so much. ????

  6. I have a bunch of crochet patterns for 18" doll clothes but not a lot of notions to put buttons, elastic etc so i have fallen back to following the patterns of a sweet lady on a knitting forum. she kindly sends out handouts to people who email her and part of this outfit is from one of those. The rest of it can be found in two places on that forum. the mock cable skirt with suspenders and mary jane shoes i love her patterns because they are very easy for a beginner the shirt is from one of her handouts and is a basic top with attached panties the sleeves are lacy ope done in a knit 1 yo knit 2 together pattern the yarn used: skirt Red heart super saver melonberry, top red heart sport in white and the shoes red heart super saver in white I like red heaqrt fot the doll clothes because it is sturdy and holds up well to play and is washable

  8. I have decided to go through my moutainous stash of patterns and weed out those I know I have not used for a year or more. This is the way I would like to carry out this plan. I want to make a pile of items I no longer want - they could be crochet or knit magazines, or crochet booklets or leaflets. I would like anyone interested in receiving some of this bounty to contact me via PM to let me know they are interested. I don't need addresses yet - I want to see how many takers there would be and try to divide items up equally. Depending on the number of interested parties, you may receive a minimum of 5 crochet/knit related items or as many as 8 per person. To ensure that the takers receive a minimum of 5 items, I may have to cut off the number of names taken as interested parties .First come, first served. All I am asking is that the taker reimburse me for postage to their location, plus 2 dollars for the items themselves. For example, if it costs 5 dollars to ship these to you, I would ask that you pay 7 dollars via Paypal. That would mean that for your five items, you are paying 40 cents each. This is basically a grab bag destash. I cannot look for certain issues of magazines or certain leaflets if you request it. My plan is to take the top five items from the pile, put them in an envelope and mail them to the first person on the list. The best I can do is to try to make sure that each package will at least have a crochet magazine with multiple patterns in it or a booklet with multiple patterns. If you are interested in receiving a grab bag of patterns, please PM me asap with only your zip code to let me know you are interested and so that I can determine shipping costs. Once I have the items ready, you will receive a PM from me requesting your address. Upon receiving your address I will send you a Paypal invoice for cost of shipping plus 2 dollars. Unfortunately, I cannot ship internationally. I apologize to our overseas Crochetville friends. I hope that this follows the guidelines for destashing. if not, adminstrators, please let me know. Jeanne (Yarnjeannie)

  10. I am wondering if anyone is going to the 2014 Knit & Crochet Conference in Manchester, NH? I just booked the trip for myself and my mom. Neither of us have been before and are looking to talk with folks who have gone or are going. Thanks, Tammy
  11. Hi, my name is Mary and I live in Rome Ny…was originally thinking about starting just a crochet group but then got to thinking that maybe it could be a craft group where we would have combined talents in one group…I know that there is an established knitting group and I don’t want to interfere with that group but I would like to at least get some crocheters together…I can host right at my home…I do have a finished basement and we wouldn’t have to find somewhere public…and I am willing to let other crafters use my supplies that I do have and you would be willing to pitch in also….I do have a lot of beading/jewelry materials and 2 sewing machines and I also have some cricut materials…I am thinking that it might be fun to mix it up a little and give each other ideas….what do you think about hosting this type of group…any ideas
  12. Can I knit a scarf with this? If so, any ideas? Fingering weight: 4 ply Recommended needle size: US 2, 6.5 sts = 1 inch It's 75% metallic, 25% rayon I want to use larger needles...not size 2! And I mean LARGER needles. I realize this will "hang" heavy. Thanks!

  17. Aubrey’s Angels is non profit, charitable ministry, in San Antonio built of love, to help meet the very special needs of precious sick babies and parents who are in need of a smile. We want each family to know, without a doubt, that there are people who love their tiny angels, are praying for them, and want to help by crocheting, sewing, knitting, and quilting hats, booties, afghans, mitts, angel layettes (burial layettes), diaper shirts, etc. working from home. We also make afghans, lap blankets, and chemo caps for chemo and dialysis patients in San Antonio. You dont have to live close to participate! We also make parent bags for moms and dads who spend an enormous amount of time in the hospital waiting room. Thank you and God Bless you for helping me continue this ministry! The group is named after my precious grandaughter, Aubrey, who left us to be with Jesus on March 18, 2011 at the age of 9 months. If you would like to join us or just drop by to see what we are doing and look around, please visit us at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/192813870824207/ New Angels are always welcome!!!
