  1. Hello I just signed up I been trying to find some good friends that crochet, talk crochet, as a single parent I do the best I can to crochet I signed myself up at a crochet group in my local church but no one still hasn’t set up a meet up place. Sigh I used to sell my crochet projects in 2008-2016 I stopped for an odd reason something was missing I haven’t figured out what yet but now I crochet once in a blue moon I learned how in High School class of 03 so I finally finished my first hardest hello kitty hat pattern a few weeks ago it felt like the pattern was way advanced for me since I am still working on beginner and easy patterns so it turned out really well I was proud of it and my friends daughter was a happy kid 😇 any ways I posted of the projects I got done in 2010,most recent ones are hello kitty hat and a dusty rose butterfly baby hat. I hope to get to know you all meet more crochet pals as I go lots of hugs 🤗.
  2. Hi all! I’m new to the group, and consider myself a beginner (self taught). Even though I have worked on projects over a few years, I make lots of mistakes. I’m hoping to gain insights from all of you and looking forward to improving skills to make many beautiful things. So far, I have made a few hats, a baby caccoon, granny square bedspread for my king size bed, a shawl for Mom, a couple of baby blankets using bulky soft yarn and the basket weave (so thick and comfy), and a throw for the sofa. I’m currently working on a chevron bedspread using 3 colors for a toddler / twin bed, and have another couple of baby items planned (blanket and the star caccoon found in a post on this forum which looks amazing and I cannot wait to try working on it.) I have some questions on my current project and will search around to see where I can post questions and pictures of my work. About me: I work full time, have a 2yr old grandson, and like most everyone else have a crazy chaotic work life. I use crochet for my me time and to relax while creating something. Hoping you all have a blessed holiday!
  3. Hello! I am so glad to join such a fun community here at Crochetville. I am currently still a Junior in high school, but I really enjoy crocheting! I am not that good at it yet, and can't do a whole lot more than a plain blanket or scarf, but I am excited to learn! Thank you all for being such a positive group of people, and thank you for stopping by to say hi.
  4. Hello from Ontario,Canada.I taught myself to crochet over 40 years ago-back in the day of doilies ! I am a collector of cookbooks and vintage knitting and crochet patterns. My stash will keep me busy forever!
  5. Hello my name is Heather and I have joined to get help and learn new things about crocheting because I am trying to make my grandmother a granny square blanket for Christmas. I made my first blanket for my nephew when he was a newborn in 2003 and I have made little things here and there but I haven't practiced alot but I am more interested in getting better and making more things.
  6. Thank you for letting me join your group. Looks like I can get some great ideas and help with my projects
  7. Hi, Newbie here from the UK. Crocheting for about 2 years now! I mainly use instagram to connect with other crocheters but hoping to meet lots more here!
  8. Hi everyone! I'm Tanya and I'm from Texas. I'm new to crochet by a few months. So far I've made two baby blankets, a pair of baby booties and a newborn cap. I started learning to crochet when I was young but I don't think I made more than a few chains and some potholders. I picked it up as a "new" hobby earlier this year when I found out that not only my fiance's son and my own son were both expecting our first grandbabies but that I am pregnant as well! I immediately thought of the blankets that had been made for me and how special they were and set off to learn how to crochet. Now, I'm hooked for life. I look forward to seeing all of your projects and to learning the craft with some good folk. Here are the pics of my few projects so far. The gray blanket and hat and booties were made for my sweetie's grandson born August 7th, and the star blanket was finished yesterday for my grandson, due a day ahead of my baby boy on November 3rd.
  9. Hi everyone my name is Shahad i'm from Saudi Arabia i'm 17 years old. I just found this site and i'm glad i did. I've been crocheting for 3 and a half years now I hope you welcome me and i'm sure i'll have fun here.
  10. Hi

Hi to all ladies and gentlemen I started crocheting nearly 2 years ago and haven't looked back since, I was a knitter before but fell in love with crocheting. I'm just starting to make my own patterns, I have just finished a babies blanket with hearts and name on it, all from my little brain lol. I have looked on here a few times and tonight I decided to sign up. I look forward to seeing new things and trying crazy ideas. I have attached a photo of my first time of writing and creating my own pattern.
  11. Greetings! I'm an old dragon gone to roost. My mind and hands are about all that still function. I have been crocheting since est. age 10, but never had any guidance. What I thought was a single crochet for 3 decades, I have learned is really a slip stitch. All Blessing to the Internet!!! lol For the last year I have made a determined effort to learn to crochet so I could make the things I couldn't afford. Like the beautiful shawl in all the right colors...sells at the craft shows for $250...out of my reach!! But $25 for yarn and a month of time...and I run around like a peacock with his tail spread!!! That's mainly because people have complimented it!! So now at just shy of 55, I'm taking off!! Granny thought I was 'slow', Mom didn't have 'time to waste on girly stuff', but I see it all as a way to love. The look in the person's eyes when I hand them a hat while they sit on cold concert waiting for the shelter to open...I want to do that all the time!! Merry Meet!!
  12. Hello all! I've been trying to find a group to socialize with for a while now where I can crochet on my own time clock (not everyone else's). My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 5 and I've been crocheting off and on ever since. I love to crochet doilies, scarves, shawls and toys. I'm a railroaders wife and live in eastern Oregon. I look forward to having fun discussing crochet, yarn, life and other fun stuff!

  21. Hello Everyone! I am a beginner-ish crocheter from Arkansas. I have been crocheting for a while using basic stitches and want to learn more. I mainly crochet beanies, cozies, baby blankets, cowls. I love playing with different fibers and textures. Acrylic and super wash wool are my go to yarns. I just recently started my first joining project. I'm thrilled with the way it is coming together considering I have mostly been winging it. I am so happy I found this website. I look forward to learning from and sharing with you all. Happy hooking!!! Yours truly, Amber
  22. Just a quick hello. I am from Massachusetts and am trying to "re-learn" some basic crochet skills that my grandmother tried to teach me when I was just a little girl. I have joined a small crochet class for beginners at my local senior center. My immediate goal is being able to read and crochet a simple written pattern to completion. I am sure with all the experienced crocheters here in this forum that I will get the encouragement I need to meet this goal.

  24. Hello Everyone! I am Sara Sach and just joined the group. Hoping to get to know everyone. I have already seen, that I already know many of you from other crochet sites. I mostly crochet for Dogs, sweaters and hats, but I also love to crochet human things, too.
  25. Hello. Glad to be part of the forum. I've been addicted to crochet for about 15 months. I learnt to crochet from my mother when I was very young and took it up again late 2012. Since then I have been hooked. I love to make amigurumi animals and small wearable art objects and earrings. I have come to realise one can never have too much yarn!
