  1. In 2018 the Warmth for Warriors organization is once again collecting handmade Christmas stockings to send to our troops. They collect the stockings and fill them with little items such as soaps, candy, toiletries and other small goodies. The stockings can be crocheted, knitted, sewn or woven. Stockings should be around 6 inches long and any pattern style or color is accepted. Stockings that are a little smaller or larger are okay too. We had a wonderful year in 2017 with 2,819 stockings received for the Warmth for Warriors. Let's have another banner year for our troops and give them a little extra Christmas cheer during the holidays. Thank you to everyone that has helped in the past and those stepping up again this year. Shipping address for all USPS packages: Warmth for Warriors PO Box 353 Rudyard, MI 49780 Deadline for shipping stockings to Warmth for Warriors and delivery to them is November 1, 2018.

    Butterfly Dish Rags

Years ago (maybe 30+) I crocheted dish rags and then accordion folded them and tied with with a pipe cleaner. The pipe cleaner ends resembled butterfly antennae. then I attached a "saying" to them and gave them as gifts. The saying told the recipient what the gift was and to untie it and their butterfly would become a dish rag. It was a little poem and it really was cute. Now I want to make them again and I can't find the poem anywhere and I guess I am not clever enough to put something like that together. Does anyone remember this? And possibly still have it??? Any help would be appreciated.

  12. Here is another pattern for a gift card or a credit card sleeve. The pattern works up quick and easy. http://crochetncrafts.com/crochet/bead-stitch-gift-card-case.html
  13. I'm making Christmas ornaments for my hubby's friends and family this year, however I'm stumped on what to make for two of his Jewish male friends that live in Florida. I can't substitute a hat or scarf, they would not need it in southern Florida. A throw would take too much time (and money). Anything else I can think of seems too girly. Any ideas for a quick, easy project I could make for each of them that would be appropriate? Thanks so much!
