Hi, my name's Valerie and I live in Colorado. I have been crocheting for many years but have only this year become devoted to the craft and improved my skills, branching away from afghans and scarves to hats, toddler clothes, amirigumi, shawls, caplets and ponchos. (thanks to discovering youtube) (My number one love has been beading.) I have an out of print pamphlet by Betty Saxton called ONCE UPON A MYTH 4 crochet mythical animals. I have started the dragon and completed the back and tail and part of the breastplate when I ran into a snag. On round 19 it says...sc in sc 4 times, sc 2 sc
I loved this scarf the first time I saw the picture and wanted one for myself. Of course as soon my grandkids saw the picture they wanted it too. So here is a picture of the grandkids' scarves, mine is not in the picture but is the same colors as the one on the left. The pattern is Dragon Neckwarmer and is in the book Crochet Ever After by Brenda Anderson. The pattern used wool but my granddaughter is allergic to wool so I used Schachenmayr Catania cotton size 2 yarn.
This was one of my favourite projects from last year! A friend asked me to make her some dragon scale gloves with a matching scarf; I couldn't find a free pattern at the time so I made a practice set with cheap yarn before moving onto the variegated stuff. The scarf is longer and thinner than I would normally make but thats just how she wanted it I'm really happy with how they turned out
