  1. I've been sew busy working on some outfits for my grandchildren and a couple of little friends. The matching dresses are for the little friends, they spent this week in Disney World and their parents said they received lots of comments about the dresses. The white gown is for the littlest sister's dedication at church next month. The other outfits are for my grandson and granddaughter just because they like Disney soooo much. I don't think I posted the dinosaur/dragon costumes before but I'll apologize now just in case I did, these are what my grandkids wanted for Halloween, and I think they look pretty cute. Dedication gown Sister sets Dusty Crop Hopper Jake and the Neverland Pirates Minnie Mouse Elsa inspired front & back Dinosaur/dragon front views of both and the side view of one but they're the same just different colors. Sorry these are side ways but I don't know how to turn them. (they're the right way on my computer just not here)
  2. My crocheting has been a little slow lately but I've been keeping busy in my sewing room. My grandkids picked out the fabrics and told me what they wanted made with them. Except for the My Little Pony outfit which my granddaughter knew nothing about until it was finished, she was squealing soooooo loud and jumping around when she saw it that I think the neighbors might have heard her. My grandson insisted on putting on the jacket right away, the air conditioner was set at a comfortable 76 degrees but he loves his jackets. Thanks for looking. Sorry for the sideways pictures, I don't know why they are like that and I don't know how to fix it.
  3. I made these Easter outfits for my grandchildren. My grandson's is not a traditional Easter outfit but it's what he wanted. My granddaughter also picked out the fabric for her outfit. I used Simplicity 3856 for the shirt and simplicity 2907 for the pants. I used Elsa form Maja's Heirloom patterns for the top and Simplicity 2083 for the skirt.
  4. I have been a fan and follower of this site on my mobile for the last year and enjoy the photographs of every one's work. I read a "how to crochet" book as a young teen and have been hooked ever since. My only crochet friend recently passed and I am anxious to connect to other people interested in crochet. I hope to learn and find answers to broaden my knowledge. I am the grandmother of 5 so have lately been working on items for them. I began crocheting exclusively with thread but have recently began creating more items in yarn. I have crocheted several blankets and wraps or shawls and now would like to learn to crochet sweaters, jackets, and other clothing items. So happy to be part of the forum.

    Easter Wear

I made these for my grandchildren to wear on Easter. They picked out the fabrics. DGD requested a bow with a heart gem in the middle at the waist of her dress. After the dress was finished she wanted ruffles on the top but I convinced that a ribbon flower would be the perfect embelishment. My DD wanted a small blue plaid for DGS vest but he insisted that he wanted to wear fish for Easter. He already has pants and a shirt that he can wear with the vest. Thanks for looking.
  8. This is a top my grand daughter asked for when she saw me doing my other tops. There is no pattern for this, I just did it up for her
  9. Hi, everyone! During March 2013, please help us make blankets for Project Night Night. To celebrate National Crochet Month, we are doing A Tour Through Crochet Country, which visits the blogs of one or two crochet designers each day. These designers selected Project Night Night as their charity for the blog tour. You can read more about the blog tour and Project Night Night here on Crochetville's blog post: http://crochetville.com/a-tour-through-crochet-country-natcromo-blog-tour/ I know this is short notice (sorry I did not post it here earlier!) but we would love to have our members donate crocheted blankets to Project Night Night. (Note that all blankets donated must be new or newly handmade. Ideal size is 50 x 60" or smaller. Check their item donation guidelines.) If you donate a blanket, will you please help us keep a tally of donations by using this form to tell us about your donation? Thank you!
  10. Having fun making some new pairs of Kiddie Socks to be donated to a charitable cause. These are in Cascade Yarns "Fixation" cotton/elastic yarn on size F hook.
  11. My little one wanted flip flops so bad so she could have shoes like her big brother and sisters but she couldn't keep them on her feet. Inspired by a picture of a strap that attached to the back of the shoe I created these flip flop straps. This isn't a pattern so much as a tutorial due the the variations in size and flip flops. You can view the tutorial at http://sunflowersathome.blogspot.com/2011/05/making-some-changes.html
  12. Hi! I usually crochet for Warming Families, but a few years back, we got involved with another worthwhile charity on the side, a shelter for orphaned children. We are making clothing for them and toys. That was how my line of Funmigurumi toys got started, and it still fund-raises for very worhty causes, while the originals go to the orphans we help. If you crochet for a children's hospital, a hospice with children, a children's shelter, an orphanage or any other children's charity and would like truly cute, easy as pie and lovable toys for them, toys the children will really LOVE (that is the reaction we have gotten so far), then go to my Funmigurumi blog and start making them! The patterns are absolutely FREE for charity and personal use. You will find the URL in my signature. Blessings! Clotilde
  13. I finished this earlier today and couldn't wait to show it off! It still needs to be washed and blocked. I also need to decide whether to try to sell it or maybe donate it.
