  2. Hi all, I have just posted my original pattern for this shawl on all my online stores on Etsy, Ravelry and Craftsy. Do pop by if you are interested in this one-piece shawl. No joining necessary as I hate having to weave in ends and sewing parts together =) here's the link to the pattern: https://www.etsy.com/listing/160067758/lacy-wrap-around-shawl-crochet-pattern? For those who are keen, I am also selling the three pieces of samples I have completed as I really don't need them in sunny Singapore. =)
  3. ... is now being hosted at the ville with permission from AmyS and Doni - the amazing designer who thought it up in the first place! RoseRed's Serafina Shawl (The above is made with Joann's Sensation's Boucle) Those of you that know me know that I LOVE this shawl, love it so much that I've lost count of how many I've made. The most WONDERFUL things about this pattern are that it can be made in any size with any combination of colors or yarns. HUGE Serafina's ** Tween to Adult Size and even Itty Bitty I make mine a little bit

  5. I finally finished my triangle shawl! I'm planning to use it at work to fend off the unbelievably freezing air-conditioning. Here is the link to the deets: http://ravel.me/PBELKNAP/dts

  7. I made this shawl for the sister of a friend who is undergoing some difficult medical treatments in order to get another year of life. I know that they both will enjoy this, and they are worth every stitch. Here is my blog post about it (which also has photos of the coordinating cloche), and here is the shawl:
  8. The pattern is worked in DK weight yarn with a G (4.25mm) hook. It has tassels at the end and is 60 inches long and 6 to 6 1/2 inches wide. It is very easy to add to the width of the scarf as all you have to do is keep repeating the rows. The tassels at the end are easy to add and you can add as many as you want. Find the Free Pattern here: Alana Lacy Scarf.
  9. These scarves were made by the prayer shawl group at First Congregational Church UCC in Fort Worth, Texas. Among the participants are Lou, Linda, Donna, Lucy, Franji, and Faye, and maybe somebody I have forgotten. Sorry. The scarves will be used at this year's UCC synod as part of an anti-bullying campaign, sort of a public relations thing. Crocheters and knitters all over the country are making colorful scarves like this. You can see a whole mess of them at https://www.facebook.com/groups/277153159028436/photos/ If you visit this site, don't be shocked - we are very inclusive. I croch

  11. I just had to try this shawl, I had a rocky start but loved how it turned out. Please forgive the horrible lighting, I just couldn't wait to daylight. This took 2 skiens of Sashay. This first link leads to the written knitted pattern and second a link to the youtube video in which she explains how its worked with both knit and crochet. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kelp-forest-shawlette
  12. Just released last week: Milk Thistle Shawlette! Check out the inspiration behind this shawlette here. This shawlette is made with Tilli Tomas, "Plie" and can cost a lot of money. No worries though. I've scoured the internets for some yarn that would be much cheaper, made from bamboo, without losing the lovin' feelin' of the wonderful drape from Plie. "Flirt DK" by Sirdar - $6.95 a skein - and it comes in a similar palette as the orginal design "Silk Bamboo" by Patons - $6.49 "Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK" by Sirdar - $6.95
  13. I just got myself enough fingering weight yarn to make a shawl. I'd like to just "wing it" and do a granny square type stitch. I'm, of course, going to do a bit of experimenting, but I thought I'd ask for people's opinions: For fingering weight yarn, what size hook do you find works best for a nice, drapey shawl?
  14. For those of you who love to make shawls, wraps and ponchos for yourselves or to give as gifts or for charity, this cutie in Southwest colors will keep anyone warm on a chilly day. You will find the free pattern here: http://craftybegonia.blogspot.com/2012/08/desert-heat-buttoned-wrap.html Enjoy! Clotilde
