  3. Hi all, I am new to the site and somewhat new to crocheting as well and have come here for some help after rudely being kicked out of a facebook group for asking for help . I am making an awareness ribbon shawl for my mom for Christmas. I've already picked out the yarn which is a 4 (Medium) and is said to be the same as the Red Heart Super saver that was used in the instructions I am using. I tried my first 5 or 6 rows but found that the awareness ribbons weren't very clear. They looked more like x's. So I went back and read the needed sized hook and found that I got a 3.50mm instead of
  4. This is one of my free patterns. Enjoy! http://www.craftsy.com/patterns?patternSearchText=how%20you%20like%20it%20shawl&sortBy=relevance Click on the link above. When you get to the Craftsy website, click on the picture and you will be directed to the download page.
  5. When I found this pattern on ravelry I knew I had to make it! Then I was gifted with the pattern by some great Fairy Godmother and here it is! The yarn is sparkling and I love the finish effect. The pattern is "Queen of the Seven Kingdoms" by MADuNaier.
  6. This is my latest creation. Made with I Love This Yarn Sparkle. The yarn has gold metallic through it, but this picture does not do it justice.
  7. Here is one of my patterns on the Craftsy web site. http://www.craftsy.com/patterns?patternSearchText=sea%20shells%20shawl&sortBy=relevance Click on the Craftsy link above. Then click on the picture on Craftsy to access the pattern page. Thank you for visiting.

  10. My friend taught me the Salomon knots and I made two shawls: For the first I used Nako Vals yarn and for the second - Alize Sal Simli. Here is also the knitted cowl - in fact it's my first project of 2015. I made the mittens too. As you can see, my kids were determined to appear in the photo...
  11. Hi everyone! I made this shawl a few years ago now, and it's worked as a triangle, and as you can see there are some shells. I was almost 100% sure this was lion brand but have been back through all their patterns time and again and can't find it but I know it's something common because it had a lot of reviews at the time. Anyone know? thanks so much!!
  12. This shawl is crocheted in such a manner as to work a single giant chevon. This shape is much more flattering on the body than a straight triangle shape. The arms of the shawl, don’t fall off the shoulders or drop to the floor. If a larger shawl is desired, work additional rows but end at an odd numbered row so edging will fit across top of shawl. The shawl can be striped by using up your yarn scraps. The shawl can be made in three dedicated evenings. Click Here: Giant Chevron Shawl
  13. Hi, I finished my first Christmas gift. It's a South Bay Shawlette but I modified it a little I love the pattern and the Drops Kid-silk.
  14. I am looking for a shawl pattern with an angel figure on it. I found one recently that has the goddess symbol on it and I didn't think it would be hard to find an angel. I keep finding the angel stitch or angel wings, not a pattern with a full angel in it. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
  15. I am crocheting a motif wrap with some fingering yarn my mom gave me. It's all different "sizes" and 'textures", but it works for a motif collage that I'm doing. My question is: I am to crochet a chain of 4 and place 19 DC into the fourth chain and then join. When I am finished with that part, I always work my hook into the wrong side of the piece and do a chain one with the tail to secure everything. I pull tightly and I end up tearing the work apart from the inside out. This has NEVER happened before and I always start the weaving process in this manner to help secure ends. It doesn't co
  16. Check out my latest creation. Done with 2 mm hook with crystal thread yarn imported from Mexico. It took me 3 months to make !
  17. Hi all, I have never attempted a shawl before as I live in sunny Singapore and it never occurred to me to make one. I saw several beautiful designs online and decided to try making one. The basic pattern is one that I have designed for two different bags. Here are the photos of the completed project: I am almost done writing up the pattern with photos included and will be looking for pattern testers soon. Would love comments on the design before I post for testers. Thanks for looking.
  18. I just finished and wrote up the pattern to this sunburst shawl based on an art deco stained glass window (in the Buffalo City Hall Council Chambers). It took me several months to design and make, especially to keep the style and feel of the original window. The pattern is available for free on my website: http://suviscrochet.blogspot.com/2014/07/art-deco-sunburst-shawl.html
  19. I made this shawl as part of challenge for a Ravelry group. The pattern is Lavish Lace Shawl from Lion Brand and the yarn is Vanna's Glamour, also from Lion Brand.
  20. Starts June 21st, 2014 and if you can come by the shop, we will start at1 pm. Spring & summer is here and a nice crocheted shawl for those cool evenings or air condition spaces would be great to have, especially because you made it yourself! You can choose from two patterns: V-Stitch & Scallop Shawl: http://www.redheart.com/files/patterns/pdf/LC4100.pdf Lion Brand free pattern library: http://www.lionbrand.com/printablePatterns/WildFlowerShawl.pdf Both patterns are intermediate that with help most can do either of these patterns. I made a few changes (of

  23. Here's a shawl I crocheted! I made it for my Grandma, but my cat, Callie, had no problem modeling it for me, first! I used the pattern from Twinkie Chan available on the Michaels' website.
