  1. Hi, I have a number of patterns that I need testing and feedback on. There will be a a mixture of small amigurumi and animal cushions. Should have all finished by the end of the month. Will be written in US terms. Let me know if you are up for testing these, I would really appreciate the feedback before I put them on Etsy. Will post pictures of the items here soon Thanks Vicky
  2. Hi everyone. Newbie here and to crochet. I found amigurumi and haven't stopped making all kinds of things, since I started about 6 months ago. I feel I'm finally ready to make my own pattern, as I had an epiphany last night, about amigurumi and math. I hate math...a lot. I'm more of a, 'right-brained,' kind of person. I have been looking for an amigurumi pattern generator and cannot find anything. I also was thinking perhaps patterns could be made in CAD, or vectorworks, Has anyone done anything like that?? Also, if this is is the wrong forum, please let me know. Happy Hooking!!
  3. I am looking for testers for my bowler hat in the following sizes: 0-3 / 3-6 / 6-12 months and Teen/Small Adult. Pattern is worked with worsted weight acrylic and a 5 mm (H-8) hook. I would like feedback (and pictures if possible) by the end of this weekend, August 11th. Compensation: free final copy of the pattern and one free pattern from my shop on Etsy. http://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/CharmedByEwe Thanks! Janaya
  4. Hello! I found a pattern for some adorable baby sandals/booties, but the pattern doesn't give instructions for the soles, just a diagram. Can anyone tell me if I have interpreted it correctly? Round 1: ch 13, hdc in 3rd chain from hook, 9hdc, 6hdc in next chain, 9hdc, 5hdc in chain with 1st hdc, sl st (not sure exactly where to sl st). 30 stitches. Round 2: ch 1 (should it be ch 2 because of hdc?), 10 hdc, 2hdc (5 times), 10 hdc, 2hdc (5 times), sl st (again, not sure where). 40 stitches. Round 3: ch 1 (again, should it be ch 2?), 10 hdc, *2hdc, hdc* (*5 times), 10hdc, *2hdc, hdc* (*5 times), sl st. 50 stitches. I made 1 sole, and the length is almost 5". The pattern says it should be about 4". I'm using Lily Sugar 'n Cream, and an "F-3.75" hook. They call for 3.5 which I don't have at the moment. I don't think the .25" larger hook would account for the longer length though, would it? I'm crocheting pretty tightly too. These are for a baby due in July, should I try to get them smaller? I'm not sure about sizes Thank you for any help you can give me! https://molanmiscalcetas.es/en/summer-crochet-bootees-3retocrochetero2/
  5. Hi all, I have been stuck on a section for the past two days. I have been trying to research it but really have no idea. Hoping someone could tell me what the pattern is instructing please. Body Row 1: Ch 2 (does not count as st here and throughout), dc in first 4 (1, 4, 1, 4) sts, [dc in next 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) sts, 2 dc in next st] 12 times, dc in each remaining st across, turn—68 (74, 80, 86, 92) dc. What does the 1, 4, 1, 4 mean and the other numbers in the brackets. Very confused? Thanks heaps
  6. I have been in love with this knit headband pattern for years. I have tried to reproduce it with crochet with limited success and wondered if anyone had seen a similar crochet pattern please? http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/blue-leaf-headband This is a link to the crochet version I came up with but it isn't really recreating the intricacies of the knit version. I used angled post stitches. https://instagram.com/p/BHDqv5WDoTH/ Grateful for any advice. Thanks so much. ????
  7. I can't figure out if [sc, inc] around means to sc and then increase the rest, or alternate sc and inc over and over.
  8. Hi, I'm new to crocheting and I'm trying out this baby blanket pattern. My pattern says at the end of row 1 to turn my work. And for the second row, "Row 2 – ch 1 {does not count as st}, 1 dc in first st, *skip 3 sts, 5 tr in next st {makes a shell}, skip 3 sts, 1 dc in next st; repeat from * to end". Does this mean I chain 4 for the treble, then an extra chain on top of that when beginning the next row? And when it says " 1 dc in the first stitch", does it mean the first stitch from the hook?

  12. Hi, all! I am new to crocheting I came across this bag from Christopher Kane and would really like to make the flowers to add on to my current plain bag. This is the bag: I have this flower from the top left done so far: I also tried the daisy flower but it did not turn out well: Would appreciate any guidance I can help to make my flowers better, especially for the daisy and the big red flower on the right. Thank you in advance!
  13. So I'm working on the back piece of a UK vintage dress pattern and am at the point where I shape the armholes but can't understand what I'm supposed to do. It's a straight piece with 80 stitches and it says Slip stitch across 6 tr, 3 ch = 1 tr, work to last 5 tr, turn (Can't figure out if I'm supposed to repeat the slip stitches at the end) Slip stitch across next 3 stitches, 3 ch = 1 tr, work at last 2 stitches, turn (2 stitches decreased at end of each row) Can someone put this in US terms that will make sense to me? Thanks!
  14. I am looking for a simple messy bun/ponytail hat pattern for both children and adults. Since I am on disability, I have to watch my pennies so I would be using scrap yarn to make these hats. Any help would be appreciated. Theresa
  15. Hey everyone! I was hoping you could help me. I found this pattern in my grandmas things and I've made the sweater and I was trying to work on the "cap" but I'm not sure what gore means, something about corners meeting? Also how to do row 3 (*1 sc in each of 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in 2nd st of previous row repeat from * around row) and row 4 (*1 sc in each of the 1st 3 sts, 1 dc around the post of the dc of previous row, inserting hook sideways repeat from * around row. Continue increasing 1 st in each gore for 16 rows. Omit 1 gore for back of neck work back-and-forth in shell pattern for remaining 5 gores for 3 1/2 inches) was confusing. My grandma just passed away and she was my go to person to ask so I was hoping someone could help. Thanks in advance.

    Lost pattern

Hi all. I live in Iceland and love crochet (all crafts really:)). I have a very large question - I need the pattern for the christmas trees in the attached photo. I think it is American but it can be wrong. Anyway, I would be very happy if someone can sell it to me:) Thanks in advance Vigdis
  17. Hi everyone! I just recently learned how to crochet, and I'm following what I thought was a fairly simple pattern. However, I can't figure out how to read it. Could someone please translate this first line for me so that I may be able to figure out the rest? Thanks so much! Here's the first line of my pattern: Ch28, 1hd in 3rd from hook, 1hdc in next 25 st, turn your work (26)
  18. It's been awhile since I've been here so perhaps I missed a post about this pattern. Is anyone working on the "Into the Jungle" pattern from Crochet World? It's a pattern published in three sections. I've started it, made a few changes and this is a photo of it so far. I'm just finishing the grass underneath the giraffe. A tiger and a monkey will be the last two animals on top .
  19. Hi! I'm a very new crocheter and I love it so far! But, I'm startibg on a hat project and I don't exactly understand what the pattern wants me to do. It has me start by chaining 3 and then it says "11dc in 3rd check from hook" I was just confused as to how I would do 11 double crochets on my tiny little chain. Do I turn and keep stacking them on top of each other? I've never done a double crochets before this and it seems simple enough and I can do the first one but I don't know where to put the other 10 that I need. Thank you!

    Pattern help

Hey guys, I am BRAND new to this crocheting business and Im having trouble reading basic patterns. I am going to attend some workshops in my local area but they are not on for another few months and I am itching to start! Is someone able to decipher the below pattern for me in newbie terms? (this is an Australian/UK pattern for a blanket) Using a 5mm hook, make 170ch (Ok, I can understand this one) 1st Row: Miss 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1 tr in each ch to end ... 168tr (I read this as skip 3 chains, insert hook into 4th chain and do a treble, then repeat until the end .. you will have 168 trebles) 2nd Row: (1dc, 1ch) in first tr, 1tr in each of next 166tr, 1tr in turning ch (treble fabric) (eeekk!) Note - (1dc, 1ch) counts as a tr. Work into the 1ch at the end of every row, to ensure that you always have 168 sts. Thankyou so much for your help! I will master this new language yet! Janet

  22. Hi again, kind Crochetville community I am making some ears to my vampire doll Vlad from Lalylala,(Link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lalylala-vlad-the-vampire-bat). I have seen pictures from other people of how these ears should look, but mine seems to have a very sharp edge, picture one. A women, magnetic mary(link at bottom) who made the same ears got nice and soft looking rows, second pictures with the crochet hook. I get these hard looking edges and tall rows, drawn on third picture. The rows are made by single crochet stitch (U.S. terms) in back loops only. Am I doing something wrong or does it just vary how it looks? I do crochet very small and firm stitches and use thin yarn. Hope someone can help me ^^ And please ignore spelling/grammar mistakes, I am danish Sincerly Sheila Second picture borrowed from magnetic mary, (link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/32592331@N07/28546301202)

  25. Hey, all. I'm new to the forums. I found this 'cause I'm trying to find someplace that might be able to help me with reading a pattern I'm having a bit of trouble deciphering. I usually don't have issue with patterns but it's been so long since I used one and I've never done a ripple afghan before. I usually just do "straight" or granny square ones. Anyway, I've got this ripple afghan I'm going to make for my little girl's toddler bed for when it's time to move her from her crib. Just a little something special for her. But for the life of me I can't figure out what this pattern is asking me to do! Also, the pattern is written in US terminology, not the international if that makes any difference at all. So, first, I'm not sure how to create a gauge swatch on this one. That's the first issue. I can't figure out if my hook size is correct because of this. So I'm probably using the wrong hook to obtain my correct gauge. Next, in row one, at the beginning it says to dc in next ch, ch1, skip next ch twice, then dc, ch1 4 times in next chain. Do I skip a stitch before working 4 dc into the single space? I can't figure that out. And in row two (which is as far as I've ever gotten, I simply can't figure out what spaces it's telling me to work. So...basically, this entire pattern is completely hurting my head. I don't know why it just doesn't feel as clear as I think it could be. Or it's just been that long since I've seen a pattern that isn't just repetition row after row or round after round. So, thanks in advance for helping if you can. I know it's a lot to ask, I'd just really like to figure this pattern out instead of finding a different one.
