  1. Hello I am crocheting a cardigan, the pattern of which is found in the link below: https://www.ilikecrochet.com/magazine/crochet-sweater-patterns/amethyst-lace-cardigan/ My question pertains to Row 2 of Shell Lace of Special Stitches, the last part - "3 dc in third ch of beg ch". Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in hdc, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-2 sp, Sh in ch-3 sp; rep from * to last ch-2 sp, (sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-2 sp, 3 dc in third ch of beg ch, turn. I am not understanding what/where the third chain of beginning chain is located. It would be great if anyone can help me with this. Thanks in advance! Tania
  2. Hi! I’m having difficulty with this chevron blanket pattern. In particular where it says rows 2-6. I find that as I continue, the rows get wider at the edges.
  3. Hello, I'm currently working on a project I'd like to get done in time for Christmas. Though, I've managed to get stuck on a section of it. The pattern I'm using involves the pink triangles and the chart. It says we're suppose to increase using HDC and chains. However, when I start off by chaining three, and yarning over and HDCing into the first CH. Then continuing the pattern from there by chaining 3 turning my work and HDCing into the second stitch etc... I get big holes in my project. Which looks nothing like the pink triangles from the pattern. Honestly, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. How should I be doing this? Can anyone please help me?
  4. I’m trying to make a pattern that has a multicolor design (it’s a leopard gecko with a yellow top and a white belly) and instructions say to make a magic ring of 6 with 3 white stitches and two yellows. How on earth do I do this??? I can’t find any tutorial on how to make a two colored magic ring let alone make a round that the colors swap so frequently to maintain the solid colored underbelly look... does anyone have advice???
  5. Hi! This is a relatively fast cowl that would be great for a gift, if you are crocheting for friends and family. You will find the free pattern here: https://craftybegonia.blogspot.com/2019/11/adrie.html#.Xc0g2dVKjIU Enjoy!
  6. Hello, I am a bit new to crochet, and a first time poster. I am reading a pattern from a book called "Woodland Crochet", and the instructions for the shell do not seem to match up with the amount of stitches I think they should produce. I haven't made it past Rnd 1 for the shell, but I made the head and legs of the tortoise without any trouble: " ch 6, start in 2nd ch from hook Rnd 1: sc, 3sc, 3sc in next ch, 3sc, 2sc in next ch" Already, I end up running out of chains to work in; I single crochet 4, then increase by 3 in the 5th chain, and I have no room to increase by 2. I have assumed that sc and 3sc are both normal single crochets since the pattern describes 3sc in the next ch in the same rnd. Sorry if this question is a bit long but I've had no luck trying to figure out this pattern. Thank you!
  7. Hello! I'm new in the crochet world and need some help understanding patterns. Up to now, I have been following video tutorials for beginners with some degree of success. Now I am trying to work with written patterns. Can you explain me what the instruction: Rounds 5-7 (7, 9, 9, 11) means? Up to this round everything was going fine. Thank you for your help.
  8. I have held onto this pattern for a LONG time. After several years- I finally felt confident enough to tackle it. But... I've been stumped on this part for awhile. I thought it may have been a mistake. I have never seen armhole shaping worked into the back by leaving stitches unworked on BOTH sides of the row. This one is written as follows for the back piece: "For the armhole shaping leave 4 sts each side unworked, then leave sts unworked every row as foll: 2 sts 3 times = 61 sts. Work even until piece measures 27"/69 cm from beg. For the shoulder shaping leave sts unworked each side 8 sts 2 times. When piece measures 27 1/2"/70 cm from beg, for the neck shaping leave the center 29 sts unworked and work both sides at once." Full Pattern: https://knitted-patterns.com/knitting-for-women/crochet/jackets/3695-crocheted-jacket-with-lapel How do you you leave stitches unworked on BOTH sides of the row? I know how to leave "remaining" stitches unworked or to work decreases at the beginning & end of the row, but not this. The only way I could think it's possible is to start new yarn for each row, but that would be ridiculous, right? If you know something I don't- any help/advice would be appreciated. (Just an added note: I haven't got there yet, but I also noticed it states to work both sides at once for the shoulders after leaving 29 stitches unworked in the middle. I'm not sure how you would do that either. I'm used to working one side and then reattaching yarn to work the other side.) Thank you in advanced to anyone with ideas! Take Care, AmyNoelle
  9. I am new to all of this. Can someone please explain how the brackets and ** /* ‘s work please? In a step by step way? Thanks.
