  1. Hi, I have completed several amigurumis in the past and I am now working on a unicorn. For some reason, I am having a really hard time with this pattern. I'm working on the front leg on row 18. I have counted my stitches from row 17 and I had 24, but at the end of row 18, I only end up with 15. Please help! Here is the link to the pattern. http://littleyarnfriends.com/post/24411665124/crochet-pattern-lil-baby-unicorn
  2. Hello! I found a pattern for some adorable baby sandals/booties, but the pattern doesn't give instructions for the soles, just a diagram. Can anyone tell me if I have interpreted it correctly? Round 1: ch 13, hdc in 3rd chain from hook, 9hdc, 6hdc in next chain, 9hdc, 5hdc in chain with 1st hdc, sl st (not sure exactly where to sl st). 30 stitches. Round 2: ch 1 (should it be ch 2 because of hdc?), 10 hdc, 2hdc (5 times), 10 hdc, 2hdc (5 times), sl st (again, not sure where). 40 stitches. Round 3: ch 1 (again, should it be ch 2?), 10 hdc, *2hdc, hdc* (*5 times), 10hdc,
  3. Hi all, I have been stuck on a section for the past two days. I have been trying to research it but really have no idea. Hoping someone could tell me what the pattern is instructing please. Body Row 1: Ch 2 (does not count as st here and throughout), dc in first 4 (1, 4, 1, 4) sts, [dc in next 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) sts, 2 dc in next st] 12 times, dc in each remaining st across, turn—68 (74, 80, 86, 92) dc. What does the 1, 4, 1, 4 mean and the other numbers in the brackets. Very confused? Thanks heaps
  4. I can't figure out if [sc, inc] around means to sc and then increase the rest, or alternate sc and inc over and over.
  5. (My second attempt at posting...I spent an hour composing my previous post and the system said there was an error when I tried to post it I literally cried.) Anyway, I'm sick of this pattern I've been working on it so long and the little girl I'm making it for is going to be too big for it if I don't finish it soon but I've hit a snag. This is what it should look like: I've just gotten to the sleeves and the pattern reads: With right side of work toward you, attach thread in 6th row to right of shoulder seam, ch 4, work 3 shells to shoulder seams and 3 shells the other side of sh
  6. Hi there! I´m new to doily making and I´m having the hardest time trying to make it look like the pictures from the pattern ! Mine are often lose, so I tried to make a tighter sticht. Still, no success. I changed the needle size as well, but aparently it still doesn´t look like the picture at all. I´ll attach some pictures so you can have an idea of what´s my problem. I crochet just fine, making scarves, amigurumis, bags and even a dress once, but doilies? OMG, those are hard !!! Please help me ? (the pictures with blue background are mine versus the original from websites and magazines) Op
  7. Hi. I only have started crocheting a few months ago and have made several different blankets so far, but the last part of the row for the one I'm working on now ( just confusing me. The blanket is marked as easy so I think I'm just misunderstanding the abbreviation or something simple. Since It's a paid pattern, I can only show a small part of it, but I think it should be enough for any experience crocheter to get the picture. With blue, ch 12. Row 1 (Wrong side): DC in sixth ch from hook, skip next 2 chs, (dc, ch 4, dc) in next ch, skip next 2 chs, (dc, ch 2, dc) in last ch:

  9. Hi, all! I am new to crocheting I came across this bag from Christopher Kane and would really like to make the flowers to add on to my current plain bag. This is the bag: I have this flower from the top left done so far: I also tried the daisy flower but it did not turn out well: Would appreciate any guidance I can help to make my flowers better, especially for the daisy and the big red flower on the right. Thank you in advance!
  10. So I'm working on the back piece of a UK vintage dress pattern and am at the point where I shape the armholes but can't understand what I'm supposed to do. It's a straight piece with 80 stitches and it says Slip stitch across 6 tr, 3 ch = 1 tr, work to last 5 tr, turn (Can't figure out if I'm supposed to repeat the slip stitches at the end) Slip stitch across next 3 stitches, 3 ch = 1 tr, work at last 2 stitches, turn (2 stitches decreased at end of each row) Can someone put this in US terms that will make sense to me? Thanks!
  11. The Cupid Head Warmer I read somewhere that the us term SC is actually a DC in uk, is that the case in this pattern?
  12. Hello all! I am very new to crocheting and am in need of some assistance with a blanket. I would love to make a replica of this (I've attached a few photos of the blanket in question) but I cannot figure out what kind of yarn this is. This was a gift to my family from a friend of ours about 12 years ago. I'd love to know if anyone can identify the type of yarn that was used for this. It is a very heavy blanket (we call it the coma quilt - it is certain that you will fall asleep when you have it on top of you). I've reached out to our friend about it but she cannot remember what kind of yar
  13. I'm working a vintage dress pattern which starts at the hem and works up to the waistline. For some reason instead of getting smaller it's getting wider as it goes up, I started with chain 232 for a M/L and now I have 247. I know I messed up around the back closure line but I have no idea how, I've been working 10 tr, 3 tr in the next stitch, 10 tr, skip 2 the whole pattern. In my head I can't understand how that would make it get smaller but can't find anything in the pattern I did wrong. Please help! I've been working on this forever and I need it to be right. Thanks!
  14. I joined for help I found this crochet pattern on raverly via pinterest. And I'm struggeling a littlebit with a part. The pattern says: R3: (4, inc x2) x2. Previously in the pattern it said (1, inc) x6. And that part is easy enough to understand, 1 single stitch then in stitch nr 2 add two single stitch in that, repeat six times. But the other way of writing I don't understand. Help?? Thanks
  15. Hi.I was wondering what to do in the block pattern in order to get the gauge? and what this means in this patterns gauge?. It says : 7 dc + 4 rows = 4 inches in Block Pattern?. It also says in the pattern the Stitch Explanation Block- 3 dc in indicated st or sp ?. Thanks.
  16. Has anyone made the wrap-ghan? I am totally lost on this project. At first I figured if the instructions didn't make sense, they would as I saw it come together. But, no matter how many times i re-read them, I can not make heads or tails of the second section Front With WS facing, join yarn with sl st to center 45 (61) sts. Cont even in pat until armhole measures 8 (10) ins 21.5 (26.5) cm, ending with a RS row. Shape shoulders Next row (WS). Sl st across first 10 (14) sts. Pat across next 25 (33) sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. Collar Cont in pat until work from shoulder edge measures 3 (4)
  17. Can someone clarify this pattern for me? I have completed four rows and it doesn't seem to be right. Am I supposed to connect with multiple slip stitches as the piece gets bigger? I'm not sure if I am supposed to be going around and around the piece or working from right to left and turning.... Row 1: Ch 26, sc in 2nd ch and in each ch across. Rotate your work and continue to sc down the other side of the ch, join with a sl st. (50 sc in total) Row 2-22: hdc across (50 hdc)
  18. So the main reason I joined this forum is looking for help on a new project I started. I found this: https://chrystalkay.wordpress.com/2015/09/23/squared-granny-throw-written-pattern/ free pattern for a granny square in a diamond thing and it looked so cool and basically simple that I had to try it. In retrospect, it probably is a little too graphic a pattern for a baby blanket (in colors that are a little too rich for a baby), but that was the original intention. Now, because I don't have patience with things like a slip stitch row (who needs that?) or trying to count my stitches in anything
  19. Hello, not exactly a new member but new to the posting part so here goes nothin' So I have some questions involving a vintage dress pattern I am making, In this pattern the dress is worked in one piece, meaning there is no sewing the pieces together afterwards which is great! One downside I've encountered is after finishing the bodice, it seems to be a way inelastic which makes getting in and out of it a 2 person job. I had the great idea of installing a zipper but since I've already finished the bodice I have no idea how to do so without possibly ruining the whole garment. I've thought
