  1. when you make a project that is going to be felted you need to use a larger hook so that the stitches will be loose because they need to have room to felt together.

you start at the head. when doing her projects i usually start with chain 2, then work the stitches for the head into the first chain. you can also use the magic circle or make a 3 or 4 chain circle. you have to be careful when you get to the arm; make sure you work the arm on the correct row. i print out the chart then use colored ink pens, pencils or crayons for each row so i know where i'm at and where i'm going. so far i've made every design with no problems.
  3. my granddaughter is "into" skulls so this would make an ideal afghan with different colored blocks. thanks a lot!
  4. i would put a nice 5 to 6 inch border around it
  5. thanks for catching that, granny square. i slipped up. maybe a slot could be made while crocheting the roof.

  10. from reading the pattern you would have to coil them yourself so i advise not to overstuff so they can be coiled. i think they would look better without the wire. her email i listed at this link in the text for kyo kitty http://mescrochet.blogspot.com/2009/06/kyo-kitty.html
  11. they are both sport weight so interchangeable. you will need more of the cool crochet and since the fiber makeup is different the project will not have the same 'hand' as it would have if using the original yarn that the pattern calls for. comparisons are listed below. cool crochet sport weght 200 yards 1.76 ounces cotton, nylon ------------- luster sheen Sport weight 335 yards 3.99 ounces Acrylic
  12. in my experience if it doesn't say stainless steel or rust proof on the packaging they will rust and i don't use them for any blocking.
