  • Crocheting since...
Learned when I was a little girl but only recently gotten into it.
  1. Don't forget to post a picture of your finished product Kellie You are such a sweet sis! But I already knew that!!! Way to go on picking it up again. I am looking for a winter project myself. We are headed to Louisiana for Christmas and I wanted to make some kind of stocking stuffers. Purses maybe! At least for the girls. Missed you at Lisa's trade! Susan
  2. Looks great Karla! It was my first afghan too. I admire that you made it big enough for your bed. It took all I had to make it a couch throw!
  3. Finally got my book!!! My sister is out here visiting me from Louisiana and she was here when it came in. This pattern was the first one she turned to in the book and said ohhh this is cute. So she gets the first on! I like the way it crochets up and the pattern was very easy to follow. I did the lining before putting the handles on as suggested and I can see how that makes things a lotttttt easier. The black was her choice, and I added the little "poppy" for a special touch. She can take it off if she wants to be all black. She was impressed that it only took me a couple of days to get it done and that was between sightseeing with her! http://www.suzyqt1968.albums.gardenbuddies.com/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=9009&g2_serialNumber=2 http://www.suzyqt1968.albums.gardenbuddies.com/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=9007&g2_serialNumber=2
  4. Um Um Um Um Um..... Who me....Well um um...maybe just a couple of times.... Okay..forget two a day. One a week for you Miss Kellie. How's that? Plants...crochet....Juggle juggle juggle.
  5. Beagle and Redbird your afghans are beautiful. I still love this pattern even after completing mine. Maybe one day there is another in my future :-) Now you other ladies I'm here to cheer you on...You CAN finish it. Do a couple a day and there will be an end! :cheer :cheer
  6. Really cute! I love to garden so it kind of tugs at my heart strings :-) I need to check in here more often. I was over at Crochet Pattern Central and found a link to This!!! You're famous Darski :-)
  7. Thanks for the pics. That is a very pretty shawl! Looks wonderful on you too. Thanks for taking the time to post them,
  8. Thanks Mermaiden. I will give that a try. Do you have a pic of the one you got in the swap? I'd love to see it. Thanks,
  9. Thanks Precious for the suggestion. I have been searching there and many other places. Can't seem to find the right thing..which of course may not exactly exist!
  10. Has anyone seen a pattern similar to this one, but in crochet? http://www.fibertrends.com/viewer/patterns/AC82.htm I suppose it would easy enough to do, but I've never done a shawl and not sure how to do the triangular part of it! Thanks for any suggestions in lieu of a pattern.
  11. Hey..maybe we can swap yarn now or something :-) I am building up my stash. Imagine a trunkload of yarn...... Did you get my PM?
  12. Well I have been reading this thread since the beginning and feeling quite sorry for myself because I didn't have the book and it would take weeks to get it through interlibrary loan. And I just couldn't justify buying it for the one pattern although I am sure there are lots of other things I will want to make from it. Then *Bang* I remembered. I have a Barnes and Noble giftcard with some $ left on it! In fact I ended up only having to pay $1.94 out of pocket. Woooohooooo! Soon I will be making my own FBB!! Stay tuned. BTW, I am loving the photo's of everyone's finished products and especially appreciate the lining tutorial. That should be extremely helpful as sewing is not my strong point!
  13. I have 22 squares done and sewn together as I'm sewing them together as I go. I don't really care for the "right side" so sewing them together as I go is working just fine. The arms are done and almost 1 front half. I layed the pieces up against a sweater I have that fits and I felt a lot better. It was just about the same size! Big Whewwww. I was worried about that. This is my first attempt at an article of clothing other than a hat, so I will be relieved to get it done. I'm moving pretty slow though :-) Can't wait to see some photos from others who finish before me.
