  1. Thank you so much for responding. Another thing learned. I was asking regarding ounces because I had read somewhere how they did that using a kitchen scale. What you all said makes perfect sense and the yardage would be a more for sure thing. The more i work and read, the more things sink in. Thanks again for your help.
  2. Hi everyone! I so appreciate this site and the help that returns with it. If I haven't told those of you thank you in the past for your help, I hope you are reading this and know that I appreciate it. So, I am still learning and need help on figuring how much more yarn I need to buy. I am doing a c2c, 2 ch and 3 dc pattern. I am using a skein of yarn that starts at 7 oz. I have weighed the remainder of the yarn left and I have 1.06 oz. I have done 32 of 75 days worth, (there are 25 blocks that make up a day). Could you give me a math equation to help figure out how many skeins of yarn i will need to do the 75 days. I hope this is making sense. I have only one skein for that day and I know that I will at least need 2 if not 3, but I am hoping to find an equation so I can figure it out on my own for the future. Thank you everyone, got to run! Bye!

    Comparable yarn

Thank you for your kind suggestions. I appreciate this group and how everyone is so willing to help. I am actually following a pattern that I found online for the c2c that i discovered about a month ago. I didn't purchase enough yarn because I had actually bought the yarn a couple years back with no stitch in mind. I just didn't realize when I found a stitch that I wanted to do, that that particular yarn would be the one most used. I am taking very careful notes so when I choose this again, I will have a better knowledge of how much yarn to buy. Like buy at least 2 of each color that I want to use and not just two of some. Oh well, a learning process. I was just hoping that some of you more seasoned yarn people might know of a good comparison. Thank you all for your time.

    Comparable yarn

Hello...With being very new to the crochet world, I did not buy enough yarn to do a temperature blanket. Little did I know that that particular color would be the one I needed the most. So with all of that said, could I please get some help in finding some comparable yarn brands to Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn!. I have no idea how many more skeins I will need, but I do know that I will need more than 1. I am doing a c2c and am still learning how to figure things out in the crochet world. I have been quilting for the last 17 years, working in a quilt store for 10 1/2 of those years and crocheting maybe a couple times during the last 4 years. Making 5 baby blankets using the hdc. So again, I know that I do not have enough yarn of the HL I Love This Yarn! and will need to substitute with another brand as the company has discounted I believe the color that I need. Thank you all for your time.
  5. Thank you so much for your input. I greatly appreciate and will take it into consideration. I can stretch it to match, so I will think about it. Have a great day.
  6. Hello, if the top of my blanket is narrower than the bottom and I am following the pattern to a "t" and there is the correct amount of stitches per row, that is a matter of tension, is that correct? I am a self taught crocheter and have made this particular pattern 3 times and this is the first time I have had this issue. So if it is a tension issue, I am using an acrylic yarn, if I block it with steam when it is all finished, will the blanket keep its shape after being washed and dried over time? Thanks you for your input.
  7. I am not sure if i am in the correct place. I am told to introduce myself. If this is not the right place, could someone please direct me? Thanks! I am not sure where to post a question i have. Thanks.
