  1. Thank you so much! I finished one and it turned oit nicely.
  2. Thank you for replying! Much appreciated. I am still a bit confused. In row 5 on the chart, for example, there is a grey square above a white square. In this case, do I work 2dc in the space from the white square below? I’m not getting the right count at the end of my rows. I do much better with visual tutorials but couldn’t find this one on youtube. I should have also asked initially but I have been working in the dc spaces of the rows below. Is that right?
  3. Hoping somebody can help. I am trying this pattern http://www.yarnspirations.com/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-master-catalog-spinrite/default/dw6d218def/PDF/BRC0202-002792M.pdf I am really confused about the MC instructions, particularly with beg row 3 where the chart comes in. Do I do 2 dc in each stitch, or do I do 1dc in 2 stitches to make the “block”. For the space, do I miss one dc for each space as in row 2, or do I just do ch1 1dc in each stitch? I’m doing something wrong because I cannot keep the right count according to the chart after trying this several ways. Sorry for the probably basic questions. I’ve never used a chart before and it’s a bit confusing to me.
  4. Thank you all. I like the idea of ending in a white stripe, and I can always add a white stipe to the bottom. I’ll start with a sc along the side to see how it looks but fear I need to do just what was suggested and make it the same width as the chevron. I frequently find I’m not ending the row on the right count of stitches and I sort of wing it to get it to count (giving me a less than perfectly straight side). I’m self taught and learning. Thank you all! I can’t tell you how nice it is to have so many experts to go to. I hope one day I can help someone.
  5. Hi all! I’m making good progress in this blanket but the pattern and videos I am following don’t say how to finish it. Top snd bottom, I suppose, are “ok” as us, but the sides definitely need some type of border. Any suggestions?
  6. Welcome from PA. I’m new here also.
  7. Hi all! I’m new to the group, and consider myself a beginner (self taught). Even though I have worked on projects over a few years, I make lots of mistakes. I’m hoping to gain insights from all of you and looking forward to improving skills to make many beautiful things. So far, I have made a few hats, a baby caccoon, granny square bedspread for my king size bed, a shawl for Mom, a couple of baby blankets using bulky soft yarn and the basket weave (so thick and comfy), and a throw for the sofa. I’m currently working on a chevron bedspread using 3 colors for a toddler / twin bed, and have another couple of baby items planned (blanket and the star caccoon found in a post on this forum which looks amazing and I cannot wait to try working on it.) I have some questions on my current project and will search around to see where I can post questions and pictures of my work. About me: I work full time, have a 2yr old grandson, and like most everyone else have a crazy chaotic work life. I use crochet for my me time and to relax while creating something. Hoping you all have a blessed holiday!
