A Few Things About Me

  1. Thank you so much! I'll definitely check it out!
  2. I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I was wondering if someone might have a good wool blend substitute (preferably washable) for Vanna Style yarn (dk). I've found a cardigan pattern I would like to try, but I'd like a wool blend for the extra warmth. I'm wondering if the Plymouth Yarn Encore or King Cole Majestic might be good alternatives.
  3. I'm in Circleville, which is about 40 minutes south of Columbus.
  4. My daughter and I went to JoAnn in her area yesterday and looked at yarn. The JoAnn close to her has so much better of a selection than the store in my area ... the yarn area must be ten times bigger than my regular store. Anyway, there were more colors there than on the website. Both my daughter and stepdaughter said they loved the colors, but my daughter said she would rather have hers in the gray tones or brown tones because she likes the more neutral colors to actually wear. So I'll ask my stepdaughter if this is too colorful for her to actually wear and would she prefer something more
  5. Thank you all. I appreciate the help with this.
  6. I made an afghan for my mother-in-law last year, as well as several other afghans. I wanted to do something less time consuming this year.
  7. Thank you. I believe I'll be making these for Christmas gifts this year.
  8. I've started a virus shawl (my first shawl actually) and I'm wondering if anyone else has done one of these. I haven't seen any that are fringed and I'm wondering if fringe may be a little much for this particular shawl once it's finished.
  9. This is the pattern I use most of the time. I've made several hats and this seems to be the best fitting pattern I've found. http://oombawkadesigncrochet.com/2014/09/basic-beanie-worsted-weight5-50-mm.html#_a5y_p=2573496
  10. I haven't posted for a while. I haven't done much crocheting since the weather got warmer. But a family member is expecting a baby girl in December and I thought I would pick out a pattern and the yarn for a baby afghan. I was wondering if anyone here has used Stylecraft Special DK. I haven't been able to find many reviews on it. It looks to have a lot of colors to choose from but I was wondering about the softness.
  11. More like this photo. http://dada4you.blogspot.rs/p/blog-page_11.html#!/Crochet-pattern-Teddy-Bear-Baby-Blanket-&-step-by-step-tutorial/p/54530409/category=0
  12. I should have made solid circles, but I made colorful circles instead. You think it's too much?
  13. Just wondering how my placement looks. This is the original pattern: http://dada4you.blogspot.com/2014/02/teddy-bear-granny-square-baby-blanket.html I don't think I planned this out very well. P.S. Not all my bears have ears yet and I haven't started on the noses and mouths.
