  1. First one I've made, love how it came out.
  2. Just a few minutes to pop in and say hello, It was so nice here the last two days but today has been cool and breezy. I so love Spring weather. Hubby has been working and I've been crocheting, finally got the dress finished a few days ago and have started another. Marlene, the ball game sounds so much fin, I'll have to remember that when my older grands are here. I love the info. you shared from your meeting, will be a help for me as well, thanks. So glad you found your phone! Cindy, I hope you are sleeping better. Insomnia is something I have dealt with all my life and it's no fun I know. I had to look up pictures of the Northern lights and wow, so beautiful! My dog babies have been muddy lately too, That means more baths, I can't stand the doggy smell lol. I'm happy to hear the kitchen is progressing well. Linda, I'm thrilled to hear of your good report, I know the healing process is slow and it's easy to get discouraged, but you're doing awesome! Hi Valerie, I lose my post a lot too and get at a loss of what to say. Hope you are doing well. Jill, You don't live too far from me, just a hour or two away. I love the idea of the prayer shawl ministry, we need something like that at our church. Judy, I love the ripple blanket, I'll have to look that up and give it a try sometime soon. Mary, I would never get that many hexigons together, much less made, congratulations! Mary and Judy, I just only wish my yarn stash was like that, I struggle to have yarn to make projects. Being out of work for so long, with no pay, it's a gift to be able to buy some. Hubby has been sick, he has COPD and for some reason Spring makes him have horrible attacks. He's been to the doctor twice with it and seems to be improving now. My sister Cheryl, who has cancer is doing good, her scan showed changes in only one node, so thankful for all your prayers! My sister Brenda with the kidney failure still hasn't heard anything from her test. She is feeling okay and in good spirits. I'm just hanging in. Fighting for disability, it's a nightmare. My doctory at Emory is the assistant professor of medicine and gives me a letter stating I can't work due to my heart condition and fainting, and I get turned down anyway. My heart problems alone make it hard for me to even shower, not counting liver problems and diabetes. I guess they want me to drive and work and just hope I don't faint while doing it. Sorry for complaining, hope you all have a great evening and a great Thursday! Hope I didn't miss anyone. Editing to add the finished dress. I love how it turned out.
  3. Good rainy morning, We have had so much rain lately and today is 100% chance. I'm so ready for some warm days with sunshine! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, my sister with cancer did get a good report, no changes, much better than we expected. I guess she's just feeling the side effects of the chemo. Thanks so much for the comments on the dress, I can't wait to get it finished. It's the first dress I've ever made and it's been so easy I could kick myself for not doing it eariler. Valerie, Summerville is a small spot in the woods near Rome, you've probably heard of that. Love the poncho's, beautiful colos! So glad to read the no surgery! Linda, I'm so glad you are swinging higher! I was thrilled to read your GS is doing better, I have had him on my prayer list. Hi Jill, thanks so much! Mary, thank you! My sister with cancer does live very near, the younger one a few hours away. I think all the rain will be a good excuse to crochet the day away, will post the dress when finished. Hope you all have a great day!
  4. Hi everybody, just wanted to let you know I am feeling a bit better. Thanks for the well wishes, it's been a tough go. I'm so far behind I just thought I'd start anew. My sister who has cancer isn't doing very well, she will go for results of CT scan today and we don't expect good news. My younger sister was diagnosed yesterday with acute kidney failure. She will be having a round of tests before we know more. Needless to say, I'm a total wreck with all this going on! I hope Spring is appearing for everyone, rainy here but 70's are expected for the day, I'll take it! I'll try my best to stop by tomorrow with updates. Have a great day! Valerie, I live in Summerville, my sister in Mableton. We are close indeed! I have managed to crochet some, working on a little dress now.
  5. Good Saturday morning, I have been up since 3 it's now a bit after 5. I'm comming down with a cold/flu again for the third time in 2 months. I just couldn't believe it when I started feeling feverish and stopped up again! Judy, I gave up on learning to knit, I just couldn't do it. The afghan is beautiful! I crochet all kinds of things, I think hats are my favorite. Like you, I donate many to charity at the hospital where my sister has chemo treatments. She has non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I'm thinking of making an afghan for each of my grandchildren, I've been looking at patterns and trying to decide on one for each. Bless your heart with all that snow, wow. Linda, you are an all around crafter for sure, wish I could say the same. I sure hope your healing continues and you get to return home soon. Maybe your GS will start liking his new school before long, I feel sorry for the little guy. So sad to see them hating it. What part of Georgia were you in? I'm not sure I could handle more winter than we have here. We were going on a one day mission trip with our church tomorrow to Kentucky but it's canceled due to their weather. Cindy, I'm also a nurse, worked ER for years until I became involved in law enforcement. I have never given up my license, I worked too hard for them! Sophie sounds like such a charmer . I don't envy you the remodle, all I can say is I hope it's finished for you soon. Your DH doesn't know what he's missing, there's nothing like waking up to a Rooster crow! Marlene, I know you are glad to be finished with the afghan, sewing in the ends is the dreaded part. I hope your DH had a great 65th birthday! The ice cream social sounds like so much fun! Mary, so nice to meet you, you're very lucky to have your family near. I love the name of Rocky for a horse I know the children love him! We're supposed to get in the 60's today, I look forward to some sunshine! Hope y'all have a great day! for making me feel at home with all of you!
  6. Good morning, It's raining here and I'm having my one and only cup of coffee of the day. Our weather is so crazy, 3 days ago we had snow, yesterday it was in the 70's and today we have a rain/sleet mix! Marlene, It's wonderful your granddaughter gets to spend the summers with you, what a joy! I can't wait to see the American Flag Afghan, and what a sweet thing to make it for! Mine is a pacemaker-defibrillator combined. It's so great you are helping others in the way you are. Joanne, goodness, you have your family scattered worse than mine is! I do hope you get to see them all pretty often. I've never been to Jersey but I love the accent! I'm going to look around more in here before getting things started in the house, I hope you have a great day!
  7. What beautiful Bags. What a kind heart!
  8. Thanks for the welcome, I've been having a good time looking around in here and adding a few things myself.
  9. Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum and hope to jump in here and get to know some of you. I'm from Georgia, married with three children and 4 grandchildren. My oldest daughter and two oldest grandchildren live in Las Vegas so I don't get to see them very often, my only granddaughter Sarah is 13, she models a lot, she has been in Vogue as well as did a commercial for Fuji film, all her earnings go into an account for collage. Her brother Alex is into soccer and is a very smart child, making excellent grades in school. My two youngest grandchildren live in Atlanta so I see them pretty often. They are still small and loveable! My youngest daughter has been married 10 years and has no children, I'm not sure she ever will, life's too busy she says. I love and have three horses, I'm just a country cowgirl at heart. I have a genetic heart condition that required a defibrillator (among other things) and now I'm not allowed to ride. I have took a few sneak rides, what the doctor don't know won't hurt him. I have 4 dogs that keep me busy most of the time, two malteese and two winnie dogs lol, that's what we call them. It's like having kids all over again! I will be 55 on the 28th of this month. Been crocheting since I was very young. That's pretty much it, if you want to know more, just ask! Sarah and Alex, My son and his family with my grandsons Yosi and Niles, Hubby and I
