    Not sure...
  1. Hello, I'm new here! Let me just start off by saying that I know very little about crocheting. I can only do a basic stitch that one usually learns when they are first learning to crochet. Anyway, I had bought a gorgeous American flag afghan on Ebay. I'm planning to add gold fringe to 3 sides of it, like an embellished flag would look (fringe is very easy--I know how to do that!), but I'm afraid that the stars on it aren't the greatest. They are white x's that I believe have just been tied on with separate yarn (I can most likely just cut them off). I've posted the auction below so that you can hopefully see what I'm talking about. I want to make some kind of crochet stars, but I have NO clue how to do it. I was thinking to crochet a line, shape it into a star (like how you would draw a five-pointed star) and tie it down in a few places. I would do the same for both sides. I'm not sure if this would work in the long run, but I was also hoping to get suggestions to make better stars. I appreciate any feedback! http://www.ebay.com/itm/281367982359?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
