  • Crocheting since...
Started back in the 80s. Then restarted in 2006 to read basic crochet directions and still learning.
  1. Thank you Redrosesdz. After reading your explanation then I went for a short walk. I came back and redo row 2 about 5/6 times and finally got the idea. I really appreciate your help to get me unconfused (isn't that a word?), well I'm all cleared. Also thank you Granny Square for re-enforcing the instruction in explaining in another way so I can further understand. I'm going to officially start crocheting this hat. It's going to a charity cause. ~ Quik
  2. I just begin this pattern and already stuck. http://charmedbyewe.com/free-crochet...-cable-beanie/ I know the front post and treble crochet and doing the crossing of the stitches but the instruction got me all confused. Please help explain. Thank you. Row 2: Ch 2, skip 2 stitches, FPtrc in next 2 stitches, crossing in front of the posts just made; FPtrc in the 2 skipped stitches, dc in the top of last stitch (beginning chain from previous row), turn (6)

    I'm confused

Another question I have since I'm crocheting into this for a few rows. I started this with chain 41, sk 2 ch then sc in each ch to end. I counted at the end of every row and should be 40 stitches, right? Some pattern would indicate number of stitches at end of a row but this one doesn't and I wanted to make sure I have the correct number of stitches each time. I sometime counted 41, then sometime I counted 39 and 38, then I undo the row to restart to get the right number each time. I don't know why I have a hard time keeping the same number of stitches at end of each row. I have to be careful. So is something I need to know? In my picture attached, the left edge is not as straight as the right edge. I'm wonder if my number of stitches not consistent on each row. Thanks.

    I'm confused

Kathy, Thank you for clearing the confusion. I followed your suggestion and it worked. There's certainly a lot of difference between half double stitch and cross double stitch. Boy, I don't know why I picked this hard pattern to start back on crocheting. I'm so glad I found this website. ~ Quik

    I'm confused

Hi, I'm trying to get back into crochet by doing a dishcloth but I don't understand the following: over next 4 st work half double crochet twice I'm thinking it means work half double crochet in the next 4 stitches but how can I do it twice? Please help clear this up for me. Thank you. ~Quik Here's the link to the pattern. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...chet-dishcloth
  7. WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Those dolls are awsome! I only know one other person that crochet like you, made all the dolls' outfits. I'm just amazed by all the details especially the bride's dress. Thanks for the welcome.
  8. Hello All, Many moons ago, I crocheted with help then I turned knitter but I still like crochet so I'm back trying to rekindle with it. I thought this place feels great for me to jump back in. Also, I have a pattern/stitch question already that I will post in another topic. Hope to get to know you all. ~ Quik
