A Few Things About Me

  • Real name
    Patricia Stuart
  • Ravelry ID
  • Short bio
I'm a mum of 2 beautiful little human beings, aged 3 and 4. Staying at home to give my youngest the best help and support to give him a good start in life, as he has severe speech and language difficulties.

So I needed a hobby and I discovered I had a hidden talent in Crochet. I like to design and to make new things. I'm not good at repeating projects. Once a project is finished, I'm ready to move on to the next. That's why you would mostly see patterns in my shop instead of finished items.

  1. I crochet an extra piece the size the hair should be and then knot the hairs on it and then sew the patch on the hat. iykwim
  2. It's a fantasy yarn i found in a local shop, it's a bit like this: http://www.woolneedlework.com/yarn/Brazilia_Fantasy_by_Schachenmayr_Yarn.shtml It's really a pain to work with as you can miss a stitch and then 10 rows on it's starting to unravel and you can start all over! Also it makes counting stitches really difficult, so it's a hit and miss most of the time. If I use them, I double thread it with a similar color yarn, but it wont be as nice as the hat above.
  3. Try to do the sc3tog with just the frontloops of the stitches and don't pull yarn through in between. So insert hook in the first front loop, then the sec front loop and the last front loop (always from the front to back, it might be a bit tricky) then YO and pull through all three front loops, YO and pull through. Hope this helps!
  4. 5? First DC is the last 3 chains plus ch1 , DC in the 4th chain, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc. ch1 If it would have said repeat twice, I would say 7 DC, but it doesn't say that. Hope you work it out!
  5. I'm not sure if I would be able to say no to helping her. My hubby is already telling me I'm crazy when he hears another scream from behind the computer from me. I want her to have a nice finished item. I don't think I'll get rid of her quick tho...

    hat help

If you like the one side better go for it. My hats are always good side out, but i think it also depends on how you crochet and hold your work? My Puff stitch beret, looks better wrong side out, because the puffs are puffier, iykwim, And with certain funky yarns it also looks better wrong side out.
  7. I know, most of the emails I get back are lovely and the girls are so nice. But at this stage it's just getting annoying. I'm almost there to tell her to send the yarn to me and I'll make it for her hahaha
  8. Hi, It's my Chevron Skirt pattern, it's one of the easiest patterns I have. And I write patterns step by step, so basically you only need to follow exactly what I've written down. PM me!
  9. Update, Since that first email she has send me over 10 emails in the last few days. Tonight was another low. The pattern needs 11st to work, she chained 110, and ended up with 99st in the third row??? I have no clue what happened.
  10. Great, can't wait to see a picture of the finished item!
  11. HI Sue, this is available in my shop on Etsy, Ravelry or Craftsy (see links bottom of posts).
  12. Autumn has started today, loads of rain and wind! Not ready yet to say goodbye to summer, so I made Sunflowers!
