A Few Things About Me

    Filet Bedspreads
  1. I do flat tapestry crochet quite a bit and I found that doing reverse crochet was easier for me to pick up than trying to crochet left-handed. I think my left hand is all thumbs!
  2. Hello from Minnesota. It's always great to see new people crocheting. I have to admit that when I was trying to teach my wife how to crochet I was guilty of the same thing as your grandmother.
  3. I usually always have 2 projects going at the same time. I love making afghans and filet bedspreads but the projects sometimes get alittle overwelming. With two going at the same time I can switch between them.
  4. I both knit and crochet. Other than that I carve walking sticks, do alot of camping and I am a tattoo artist.
  5. At first mine was hats. I love hats, the uglier the better and boy did I make some ugly hats. Recently though it has been Filet crochet. I can't get enough of it.
  6. I was taught by my grandmother when I was 12. She taught all the men in my family to crochet when they were around that age. She had a wall in her kitchen were all the potholders that were made by my uncles, cousins and dad were proudly displayed. I have carried on this tradition and and taught both of my sons how to crochet when they turned 12.
  7. Still got a long way to go. Just under halfway done. I post a pic when its done.
  8. I'm 39 and I was taught how to crochet by my grandmother went I was 12.
  9. That is awesome. My DW won't let my stash grow more that the tote I have in the bedroom. Whenever it starts to overflow she make me covert part of it into hats or a scrapgan before I can buy more.
  10. I've been reading this forum for many weeks and finally got around to joining. Were I live there are not many people that crochet, especially men like myself, so it is great to read about what others are doing. I am currently working on filet crochet bedspread and am reaching the point were I am beginning to wonder what I have gotten myself into. I look forward to getting to know everyone.
