  1. What a sweet husband. I could see mine doing something like that!! It makes up for the times when they do stupid stuff Mine can do 10 stupid things but I love him so much anyways because he does sweet stuff like yours did.
  2. That is just beautiful. I am not really ready to crochet something like that but I think I would love to make some small blankets to donate. I will check out the charity area, but offhand does anyone have a nice place to donate these? Would any hospital take them?
  3. That is my auction and these replies are really offending me. I think it is a nice sweater. Just kidding.
  4. I didn't read the replies yet so I hope I don't repeat too much. First off, a 1 yo and a 2 yo... I have 2 little ones but mine are 2.5 and 4 now, so I am starting to be able to do stuff again FINALLY. My first advice is to realize that for a little while, it IS going to be difficult to do stuff, no matter what. Those are hard ages, especially having 2 of them. The second piece of advice is this: hoodie sweatshirts. The whole reason I got into crochet was because I had to surrender sewing. It was just a joke with these 2 around! But I discovered I could put a ball of yarn and a hook into the pocket of a hoodie sweatshirt (or any shirt with that front pocket) and walk around crocheting! Mostly this is outside, but you can do it around the house as well. You might just have to stick to some smaller projects (small meaning not large to carry) and do the bigger parts when you do get some time to yourself. Not a perfect solution, but give it a try. If you limit your crocheting to only when you can sit for an extended time, you will most likely be frustrated. If you can walk around the house and do it, you have just expanded your crochet time! Good luck!
  5. I can't believe they didn't have fingerling yarn!!! Oh yeah, and way to go!
  6. I am really into shopping at thrift stores. However, when I go through the linens aisle, I always see quite a few blankets that someone obviously put a lot of work into... on sale at a thrift store for super cheap. It makes me sad!!! And it makes me worry that it will happen to one of mine that I give as a gift someday! I have been thinking about buying these, maybe just the baby blankets, and sending them to charities. Sorry, that was just a random thought !
  7. My son has one of those toy vaccuums with this little window in it... it has glitter and colored yard in it that swirl around when you push it. My vaccuum has one of those clear canisters for the dirt instead of bags, a Hoover wind tunnel I think. Anyways, my dh was vaccuuming after I had finished a big multicolored blanket and he told me he could no longer tell my vaccuum apart from my son's. He showed me and the little canister was full of little pieces of yarn just like the toy one.
  8. Thanks so much for the replies. I am ashamed to say I still haven't gotten it checked out... I guess I wanted to see if it would disappear but it hasn't. So I will let you all know when I see the dr! I bet it is a ganglion but better safe than sorry like you have all said. Thanks!
  9. It sounds like you had a ganglion cyst. I used to get those when I was younger, I think perhaps from doing pottery. I never get them now. But I have not had one in this area before. Thanks for you story though! All I have to say is ouch.
  10. Has anyone gotten a lump in their thumb and thought it had something to do with crocheting? I definitely have some carpal tunnel issues, I have had them in my life before but now that I am crocheting a lot is getting worse. I have no idea if this is related or not. It is small and very moveable, on the inside of my right thumb, about in the middle near the joint. I am of course looking into this and will most likely make a dr appt, but wanted to see if this is common in crocheters. It doesn't hurt a bit, btw. Thanks!
  11. Thank you so much!!! I am putting that on my project list. Should have pics around 2007.
  12. My mom is looking for a bobble stitch afghan pattern. Anyone have a good one?
  13. Omigosh, my dd LOVES flamingos... getting some pink yarn TODAY!!! Thanks!!
  14. I am working on the lion today that I bought from your etsy shop!! I am going to have quite the zoo in a few days.
  15. I have been on this forum for about 24 hours.. wait, no, more like 19 hours, and you are by far my favorite poster so far. I am not sure if that is a compliment or not lol... It is. These animals are just so darn cute!!!! Thanks!!!
