A Few Things About Me

  • Favorite projects
  1. Just finished this afghan for my son today. The colors look kinda washed out in the picture, but you get the idea.

    Stitch Name?

You're absolutely correct. It would appear my CRS may be worse than yours! So sorry.

    Stitch Name?

crunch stitch? Nevermind....the crunch is 1 hdc, 1 sl st You're looking for a granite or moss stitch I think.
  4. I know nothing about the toilet tissue topper but going by your thread title, the word for the hooded scarf you're looking for may be a "scoodie".
  5. I use Gingher 4" thread snips, they work best for me. Scissors are too time-consuming.
  6. I usually go to Walmart.com. They have a site-to-store option that I use a lot. You can order and pay for about any yarn you want, and they ship it all to your local store where you go pick it up. Walmart pricing, (sometimes even deals!) and no shipping charges. It always arrives earlier than projected, too. Very convenient.
  7. Love that Checkerboard afghan. I purchased that pattern but am a little intimidated. Are you finding it an easy pattern to do?
  8. guiness56, what did you end up thinking of the RH With Love yarn? I worked up 1/2 skein of it in the afghan I was starting and ended up taking all the unused skeins back to the store for a refund. Ugh! I didn't like the stretchiness of it at all, and to me it seemed really cheap-looking.
  9. I've never tried ILTY so I can't say. To me, RH Soft is similar to Caron Simply Soft, but with more body and less splitting.
  10. I just bought some of the With Love today for an afghan I'm starting. I agree with the original poster that it seems too stretchy, but it's hard to tell after just a few rows. I have a feeling though, that I'll be going back to my favorite: Red Heart Soft.
  11. Finished this morning, made for a friend per her request. Hometown USA yarn.
  12. This is a really great afghan. So cute! Love the owls. Looks like a whole lot of work, kudos!
