  1. I didn't lose last week, but I did maintain. I am one square behind on the afghan. I'd be caught up, except that I don't care much for the square I''m working on, so I've been avoiding it.
  2. Sounds like exercise to me as well!! Hope you're not too sore today!
  3. Lori, that is a beautiful afghan. It'll be a great motivator!!
  4. Hi Lyndsay. We are all trying to lose weight and get healthier in our own ways, so do whatever is best for you and that baby you're nursing. I don't think you have to use a published pattern if you prefer your own.
  5. Same with my computer. Its actually a laptop, but I seldom think to remove it from the desk and take it elsewhere. (not sure why. The afghan is just beautiful.
  6. Good luck on your job hunt. I hope you do plan to resume work on the afghan when time allows. I'm having trouble staying focused on this weight loss thing, and I am also having difficulty finding time to work on the afghan. At the moment I am only one square behind, but that's essentially because for the past 10 days I have not exercised once, nor have I lost any weight. However, my plan is to continue on it and the weight loss journey. I'm going to lower my rules for making squares. I'll make a square for each two pounds lost, and one squares for each hour of exercising, until I have a little more free time.
  7. Smith, I hope you feel better soon.
  8. Your squares are great, I love the colors.
  9. I am almost caught up with my afghan. I made two squares today, so I have one more to go to be caught up. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow. And hopefully I will be able to make more squares when I weigh in next week.
  10. Yes on weekends, and every other day! I have no weight loss to report this week, and I didn't get much exercise in either. My only excuse is that I have had a cold and have absolutely no energy. Maybe it's just as well, I'm still 3 squares behind. Hopefully I'll loose next week, and be caught up when I weigh myself next weekend.
  11. I'm having trouble getting moving too. I was lulled into thinking things were going great because I've been losing, but I know that I need to exercise. Just need to get off my behind and do it! congratulations to everyone who is losing and exercising. Keep up the good work.
  12. Congratulations on the weight loss!
  13. My mom is an expert knitter. She tried to teach me to knit, but I was never good at it. My grandma told me crocheting was much easier, so I decided to try it, mostly using a book but also with a little help from grandma.
  14. Exercise is a problem for me in winter too. Part of the problem is that I don't fell much like doing anything when its gloomy outside. I don't feel at all depressed, I just don't want to do anything but sit around and read or crochet. As soon as nice weather returns I will be up and at it again, but in the meantime, I pretty much need to force myself to exercise.
  15. Ally, hopefully next week will be better. Keep working at it.
  16. Tia, I'm sorry about your mice. Hoep the rest survive. I am down 3 more pounds, which is amazing, since I wasn't all that careful about diet this week, and we went out for Chinese food last night. I did manage to get my three days of exercise in though. This means 3 more square for me.
  17. WTG, Diane! I agree, Zumba sounds like a fun way to exercise. Here is a picture of the 8 sampler squares I have done so far. They are a little difficult to see, but I couldn't take another picture as my camera batteries need charging. Picture is clickable.
  18. I want to congratulate you on not smoking for three whole weeks. That is quite an accomplishment! Ive made two more exercise squares, so I now have 8 out of 63 squares done. Who knows, I might actually finish this afghan someday!!
  19. Congratulations to all the winners...er.... I mean losers!! Not much progress for me this week, one pound down and only 1 hour of exercise. In my defense, I have a terrible cold and have absolutely no energy. Still it means that I can crochet 3 more squares for my afghan. Actually, I have already made 5, but I've only earned 6 so I'll make one more, and work harder next week.
  20. Kellie, that sounds like a great and interesting Christmas gift. It also sounds like your gift is providing you with a lot of exercise. When all those rhodys bloom, it should be gorgeous. What will you do with them?
  21. I do the same thing for the same reason. I put lots of veggies in my homemade spaghetti sauce too, just whatever I think i can sneak in without anyone noticing. I weighed myself this morning and I'm down three pounds!!!!:clap I did exercise a bit this week, (more than usual, anyhow), but I totally avoided sweets. It goes to show that small changes can have a big impact. So that means that I have earned the five squares I've already made for my afghan. If I exercise today, (and I will!!), I can make another square.
  22. I am ahead of myself. I've made 5 squares instead of the three that I have "earned" so far. Maybe I'll be down a pound or two when I weigh myself tomorrow to make up for my eagerness.
