  1. My grandma taught me to crochet when I was about 11 years old.
  2. I'm making a doll for my niece. It's really a gown for a barbie-like doll. It's her HS graduation gift. It's taken just about forever to finish. I'll post a pic when it's finished. Here is a pic from the pattern.
  3. It really depends on the project. My daughter likes putting her fingers in the "holes" of her blankets, so weaving in the ends was not working for very long because she would eventually find them and undo the work. I've had to start tying them when I make baby blankets and other things for my daughter. When I'm making anything else, I weave the ends in as I crochet and then weave them some more when I'm finished.
  4. I have crochet clothes, dolls, doll clothes, accessories, jewelry, bathroom decor, slippers, hats, scarfs, mittens, holders, etc. yo can crochet just about anything!
  5. The very first thing my grandmother had me crochet was a long long chain. She said that when she could hold one end in her house and my mom could hold the other end in ours then I was done with it. :-) It was yellow. The next one was a yellow hat for my baby doll. My third was a little coin purse/bag to put around my neck at school. :-) I was 11.
  6. My yarn stash is pretty big, well, maybe not as big as some people I know. Every time I start a new project that requires new yarn, my husband gets upset because I'm spending money on yarn, having so much yarn in the house. However, if he doesn't see it come in the house, he doesn't know it wasn't already part of the stash. :-) I went through the trouble of starting a project with some yarn from my stash to please him and I ran out half way and had to go and get more yarn anyway. since then he's a bit more understanding. :-)
  7. I usually try to finish one project before I start the next. The problem is that I start a project and, since I work on it after work and during the weekends when I have time, what usually happens is that a project I need to have done by a certain day creeps up on me and I have to stop the current project and work on the deadline. Also, I have projects that I had started a logn time ago and stopped for whatever reason and have never gotten finished. They are always on the list and getting pushed down by newer projects.
  8. I made this cable sweater for my daughter after making one before she was born and it turning out to be doll size. O:) Thisone fit just right, which meant it only for for about 2 weeks.

  17. This is probably a silly question, but how do I know where to send them? I would love to participate. I need 6 inch squares in baby yarn, baby colors. I don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, so anything that could work either way would be great.

  22. Hi, I just joined on the suggestion of an online friend. I've been crocheting since I was 11 years old and I love making things for my daughter. I also sell some of what I make. Crocheting is so relaxing to me that I use it as an anti anxiety mechanism. However, that makes it so I have a lot of extra stuff most of the time, that's when I start selling my creations. I would love to participate on some swaps. That would allow me to crochet some beautiful things and now have an overflow. I'm pregnant at the moment as well, so I'll probably be making some baby stuff soon. Anyhow, here I am. Hope to have a chance to talk to some of you soon. Dali
