  1. I had to take a few breaks. I don't think I'd do one that big again, at least not with single crochet.

    Ripple Afghan

It took me about 16 months to finish this project, just in time for my daughter's birthday. It's big enough to cover a queen size bed. I used about 10 skeins of Hobby Lobby, I Love This Yarn, Over dyed. The afghan is all done in single crochet.
  3. I have made several of these. Very simple and look great. I can't remember where I got the pattern. I make a chain to desired lenght endind with odd number, usually over 200. Single crochet in each chain, chain one, turn, single crochet in second single crochet, chain one, skip single crochet, single crochet in next single crochet until end, chain one, turn. Single crochet in chain one space all the way across. Single crochet in turning chain, chain one, turn. Repeat last row until one row less than desired width. For last row, single crochet in chain one space and each single crochet. Tie off. Finish with fringe. I can usually get one scarf out of a skein of yarn. This one was made with Hobby Lobby, Love This Yarn, Tweed and a K size hook. It takes a couple of hours to make.
  4. I have seen this yarn. Was it hard to work with?
  5. Some simple trim for purchased socks. I have been making these for my granddaughter. I have also added beads and jingle bells in the past. I use 10 thread and size 10 and 7 hooks.
  6. Thanks all. I think I'll take just a couple of my "cheap" hooks. I don't think I'll have a problem. I am flying out of Albuquerque. We shall see.
  7. I am trying to find an answer and find no help with TSA. Has anyone flown with crochet hooks in their carry on? The TSA web site says knitting needles are ok but nothing about hooks. Anyone have experiences?
  8. I am looking for a pattern for a crochet bow tie scarf. It is a key hole but when you put it on, I looks like an oversized bowtie. It is made with a puff yarn.
  9. Items are almost gone. Still a few books left.

  11. As my name says, I am the mom of 5 kids, all grown now. I am in the Albuquerque area. I just recently resumed crocheting after a long hiatus. Looking forward to many new projects. I am a new grandma to a special needs baby. I am loving making blankets and other things for her. I am always on the lookout for things with lots of flowers and bright colors for her.

  16. I have been looking for several days. Lots of really cute patterns but not what I am looking for. My friend's scarf, (maybe neck warmer is more like it) was a Key Hole scarf but very short. It was made from Bernat Puff Ball yarn. I looked on their web site with no luck and googled it. Anyone have an idea? I am going to try and get a picture of it. I am not experienced enough to make my own pattern. Thanks for the welcome!
  17. A friend had a neck scarf made from a "puff yarn" There was a key hole and when worn looked like an oversize bow tie. Does anyone know where I can find such a pattern? It was soooooo cute.
