  1. nPrairie- I received your tea swap package yesterday, and thank you very much for all the variety. The candy cane tea was much appreciated-love the holiday spirit!! Thanks again:clap
  2. OH good jolly. I am sorry, Group 1. I forgot to let you know I mailed your packages last week. Regular mail, small square boxes. Hope you all enjoy!! I wish I was more creative, but I had fun picking stuff up for the boxes anyway
  3. That means you, Harvestar, NPrairie, and AshEgypt. I have finally returned to the land of the "electrical" after Hurricane Wilma. I can not tell you how nice it was to take a hot shower, use a microwave and switch on a light. OH, and to use the internet!! Wilma done us wrong in S.FL. Most trees down, houses condemned, no groceries or gas, etc. . It will takes months to clean up everything. AND, after Katrina/New Orleans, it didn't even make big national news!! ANYWAY: I will be finishing up the swap boxes, and they will be mailed sometime next week, so you should have everything before Thanksgiving. If you have any special requests, let me know this week!! ( I am asking as I didn't see any of your surveys, so I am assuming tea, so please let me know your favorites).
  4. You may be able to find it on-line: Cotton chenille. it is SOOO soft. makes good washcloths
  5. What a sobering topic. To think it could have been us here in S. FL. I have stopped the purchase of yarn for a while, so I can send the monies to the Red Cross and Humane Society to help those in the New Orleans/Gulf Coast area. They will really need our help in the next year for rebuilding purposes, or just to start their lives again where ever they decide to go. consider donating some of your "play" funds to help those in great need. Skip the monthly movie, or the weekly BBQ dinner. I have decided to use my yarn/craft funds Some folks have mentioned helping those in Florida, but in the grand scheme of things, the 250 homes that may have been damaged can be handled through the state. Please direct your help to the Gulf Coast-they have lost everything!!
  6. I am SO hitting Barnes & Nobel after Greek food tonight!!

  8. I love all my bookmarks. They are all lovely!! Thanks to Kimberly (belgium), Eva, Bluefuzzy and JPR54 (one did not have a tag, but they are ALL gorgeous and will be well used and well loved. My camera is chock full o' pictures of the new nephew, or you would see the beauty yourselves. Thanks again to all who crocheted, who mailed and who organized. This was such fun!!
  9. Ohhh....I returned from visiting my new nephew to find a gorgeous box of yarn from my swap pal Tween. bright yarns!! fun yarns!! Beachy candle!! and a nice note. Purples and pinks and yellows, oh my!! Thanks so much for putting together such a great box, Tween.
  10. Before there are any more hurt feelings, I have not been home since the 9th, so a package may have arrived for me but I will not get to check it until the 17th. I will post as soon as i can.
  11. It IS a bummer. It's like everyone is going to the dance in dress up clothes and you are watching through the window!! will be out of town for several days, so IF the package DOES show up, I won't get to look at it until I return!!!
  12. I have some pillowcases from my Grandmother also. Have you noticed they are made of the nicest thick yet SOFT cotton?? And that they don't have any side seams?? I sure wish I could find cases like that now. sigh..they just don't make things like they use to...
  13. Right on, sister, but I don't even get the right tampons or toothpaste. The dollar store here has brands I have never heard of, and some printed in a variety of foreign languages.
  14. Great Purse. Totally Tubular, man! Really, tho..in 1985 I was too busy sporting the combat type boots, black jeans and concert t-shirts. That purse would never have gone with my black ensemble and cigarettes!! "What flashbacks" is right, and not all of them great....
  15. Hey...guess what I got!!! I don't need to stalk the mailman anymore. I received lots: wine charms, floral stationary, handmade soap (it smelled SO good), Frenzy, Jewelbox, Light and Lofty, Jiffy yarn. I MUST decide what to use for what when!! The decisions, the decision Thanks to my Pal, Crochet Buffet. I bow before you in thanks.
