  1. I finallly finished up my Gryffindor house blanket, thus completing my first round. Now I have to move on to my second round. I made this for one of my friends who is going through a tough time right now. The pic is here: http://community.livejournal.com/weasleysweaters/83023.html
  2. It's something I just discovered in the last hour is called the EXTENDED single Crochet. *excited bounce* My stitch DOES have a name after all!!!! Thanks!
  3. I finished my 3rd house blanket last night. The pics for it can be seen here. This is the Hufflepuff blanket. I have just one more to go, but it will have to wait while I finish up a commissioned afghan. This one worked up well and quick, taking only 9 days. Designs and lettering are my own pattern.
  4. The designs are my own. I can't usually find what I am looking for in pattern books, so I do it myself. Hence the very basic design (i.e. not very frilly willy)...But I am proud of my work. Thanks!
  5. Thanks! I fixed it now. Thanks for looking!
  6. Pardon my failure of etiquette in posting these links in my introductory post. I have been crocheting for, what seems like, EVER. Recently, though, I have been working like mad on some new blankets. These 4 I've finished since February and I am now working on another....(with 9 more planned, plus a commission)! Examples of my work can be seen: Here Here Here Close-ups of the last Non-HP baby blanket Here I appreciate feedback and concrit (when delivered nicely). Looking forward to reading what you think!
  7. My name is Amberlyn (or Amber). I hail from Central Illinois, US. I have been crocheting for nearly 17 years. What began as a desire to make a teacher a blanket for her new baby has, over the years, become a great obsession to me. For the past 5 years, I have been a HUGE fan of Harry Potter ...and so inspired to work with both of my obsessions. In the past, I've done silly stuff like making scarves for my RL Harry Potter fan friends. Now I have moved on, and I am making BLANKETS for those same friends. Since February, I have made 3 blankets and have begun work on a 4th. Examples of my work can be seen: Here Here Here Close-ups of the last Non-HP baby blanket Here I look forward to meeting new people and learning all kinds of information and fun stuff from y'all. (Yes, in Illinois, we do say "y'all".)
