  1. Thanks! It's done in 36 six-sided motifs. The amazing "swirl" look happens when you start piecing them together!
  2. Here's my completed Carnival Shawl from the Rowan Holiday book. It wasn't difficult, all single crochet! It's made from a superwash wool w/ some cashmere, I forget the brand name of the yarn, but it was the same weight as the Cashsoft. If you want to do the fringe, make sure to buy an extra skein or two.
  3. The minute I hit submit thread it dawned on me! Thank you so much!
  4. I am having a terrible time with this one! I am following the pattern with the dc's and it is not working out. Each motif is curling up like there are not enough stitches in each round, but each motif is also way too big for the guage (like 10in. instead of 6in.) I am going to try the pattern with single crochets and see what happens. Any one out there successful with this pattern?
  5. Thanks for the great idea! I think I'll run some hot glue around the lid when I close it up.
  6. I've croched a turtle rattle for my baby niece and you are supposed to put rice or beans in the empty small cream cheese container which fills out the turtle "shell". Anyways, I'm wondering about putting rice or beans in it... what if she wants to put it in the washing machine? Would some plastic beads be better? Anyone got any advice? or am I just thinking too hard?!?
  7. Hi, my name is Cathy and I live in Richmond, Virginia with my cat Sierra who generously lets me live in her castle. I learned to crochet as a child, but just recently picked it up again and can't work on all my projects fast enough. I must have my next 12 projects already picked out! I'm looking forward to discussing it all with you!
