    2019 Stashbusting CAL

2019 Stashbusting CAL This is a continuation of last year's game. With the start of the new year, you get to start with ZERO for your point score. If you want, keep your 2018 score in your signature to remind you to "Do Better". Here are the general rules: Please sign up to this thread. I will be putting all the names at the end of this post so that we know who's playing. Also, please put a line in your signature for Stashbusting score. Example: WTD=+5 YTD=+27. Please post your scores by Midnight on Saturday, so that the scorekeeper can pick them up. Shortly after that, the scorekeeper will be tallying the scores and posting them on Sunday. Please make your score easy to be seen. Large numbers and pretty colors really help. Example: WTD=+7 YTD=-9 WTD= week to date and YTD = Year to date. First (gold), second (silver) and third (bronze) will be noted on the scorekeeping list on Sunday, along with all the other scores. If you have the largest total in receiving yarn and not using it up, it is called the "Shoot the Moon" award. The "Shoot the Moon" winner from the previous week will be responsible for posting the scores the following week. If the "Shoot the Moon" winner is not available to post the scores, please contact greyhoundgrandma as early as possible so that scores can be posted in a timely manner. The scorekeeper should post by 12 noon Eastern Time on Sunday. If it will be posted at another time, due to work, church, etc., please notify the group so that they will know when to expect their scores. Scorekeeping For every skein of yarn you use up completely, you get two (2) points. For every skein of yarn that you roll into a ball, you get one (1) point. For every ball of yarn you use up, you get one (1) point. For every skein of yarn you buy, receive, or inherit, you lose two (2) points. For every ball of yarn you buy, receive, or inherit, you lose one (1) point. A skein of yarn is a brand new bundle that you have bought at a store or its equivalent. If you roll it into smaller cakes or balls, it will still count as two (2) points when you use them completely. You count points for yarn that you use in crocheting, knitting, crafting or give away. This is an on-going CAL. Feel free to join at any time! When you start playing with us for the first time, you DON'T COUNT what's in your stash. For many of us, that would be impossible. You get points when you use up what's in your stash or lose points when you add to your stash. Your first scores will be posted January 5th, and the first list of scores will be posted on January 6th for the week ending on January 5th. If you have any questions just post them to the thread. Good luck with your stashbusting! 2018 Stashbusters: darski Ellie 13 greyhoundgrandma howieann Inkked0317 KoalaLovesYarn MalisaMeesa PBLKNP pineknott TexasPurl

    Our House (Part Three)

Hello to everyone! Hope you have a good week! It's going to be cooler here. It'll be nice to have a break from the early heat we've had. Looks like it's going to be another fairly busy week. Older DS is coming for a visit next weekend and I need to get some house cleaning done. I've been avoiding it too long. Crocheting is so much more fun. Brenda, glad your issues are starting to get resolved. Dealing with insurance and paperwork can be frustrating. Mary, I enjoy your kitten pictures--they're really cute!

Your profile picture is impressive! I lost weight in 2017-2018, but unfortunately I lost my motivation this year and have gained a lot of it back. If I can get my snacking under control, I'll do a lot better. Not much self-control. LOL

Jessie, that's fine. No need to take shoot the moon. This certainly isn't something to stress about or take too seriously.

    Our House (Part Three)

It's been a whirlwind week. I've tried to keep up with the posts. Cute kitties, Mary! I'm sure the kids are having fun with them. Love the bag, Judy! DH spent two nights in the hospital after having a small stroke that luckily only affected his eyesight. They think it will resolve itself in a week or so. One chemo medicine has been stopped and he's back on his daily aspirin-- hopefully his hemoglobin won't drop again. He was a horrible patient! He has no tolerance when they are just running tests and there is no treatment. I'm making pretty good progress on a couple of crochet projects and the weather has been nice, just hot, so I guess I really don't have much room to complain. Hope the flooding isn't affecting anyone directly. It's just unbelievable how much rain there has been this winter and spring.

Nice blanket, Jessie! I would think a photo ghan would be a real pain to keep up with all those colors and the placement.

Boxing Day 2019 (any charity items)

Pretty sets, darski! So sorry that it's such slow going for you. I guess the yarn issue depends at least partly on whether you still get any joy from your creations even tho they take a while. Continuing to pray that things improve for you.

My current project--6 flower squares make a blanket. Making one each for my GDs. I've got reservations about the pattern--Bernat Pop Petals Blanket, but I think the girls will love them. The last 5 rounds of petals don't have an increase, so it cups. The white section helps to pull it out, but not completely.
