  1. I think it is felt material that is sewn on. Felt is used in a lot of amigurumi patterns. Felt is what is used for the inside of the ears and the little hopper pads.
  2. Sorry I haven't been on. I started my new job on Tuesday and now I am exhausted. I worked 5 days and 1 night straight. Now I feel like I could pass out and not care. indigo73, your ami is just too, too adorable! I love it! Reminds me of Oswald on the Noggin channel. I will log on later in the week and maybe by then I will be awake and can actually contribute some thing like a penguin pic or two.
  3. Well the top picture is the penguin I am currently working on. I will finish it tomorrow. He still needs his feet sewn on and his wings made and attached. I already have a bunch of other projects lined up. The bottom penguin is for my hubby, I have this one is put up for now (I work on whenever I can get time, no hurry).
  4. Here are a few - http://amilist.blogspot.com/2007/11/crocheted-fruit-food-patterns.html http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/animals.php http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/cats.php http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/teddy_bears.php http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/toys.php Just go to google and type in "Free Amigurumi patterns" and you will find a lot. Many people on this forum have patterns on their websites and blogs. Just click on their links next to their names. Hope this helps you.
  5. Hi siminsc, What brand is the doll and style? A couple of examples - Berenguer doll, in a baby style or a fashion doll like "Barbie"? Any of this type of info would make it easier to help you.
  6. santi6977, thanks for joining this CAL. Congrats on completing the little turtle and panda bear. I am slowly but surely working on another little fat penguin. I just haven't been in the crocheting mood. Anyway, I am going to work on it more today. It seems like it has been waiting to be to finish it for ages. Well I guess it is time to go watch some anime and work on the penguin.
  7. Please join the current CAL - http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=74874 We would love to have you join us.
  8. Welcome to C'ville. I live in the Newberg-McMinnville area. Among the wine vines and little green aliens.
  9. What a wonderful idea. Very sweet and pretty.
  10. The Mexican Milk Snake is finished. This baby turned out to be 34" long. I did it continuous rounds, I wish I had not. Looking at it now I am a little sad to see it looks so unprofessional. But my hubby says it looks prefect. So since I usually judge myself to harshly according to him, I have decided it is fine. He really is a better judge of my stuff than I am. Now it is time to start to work on the penguin for this fellows brother. Wish me luck on finding enough black yarn to make the penguin. Click on them to see a larger view.
  11. When I asked this question about a month ago no one responded so I don't think there is much of an interest. However, to answer a couple of your questions. Jinglelady did the organizing in 2006 it was a crochet-a-long. It was a lot of work. We set up a web page. Then everyone choose one main item that they planned to crochet. We then were split into teams based on the type of item we were going to make (wearables, kitchen accessories, etc...). We couldn't start until the Olympics were officially started. Then you worked on your project only when the Olympics was on for that day. We awarded anyone that finished at or before the official end of the Olympics with a gold medal web button, there was sliver and bronze too. We did constant updates on our projects. It was a lot of fun. But I know that I had the easiest part I designed the web page. Jinglelady did all the real work. She placed us in groups, updated the web page and kept the whole crochet-a-long going with cheerfulness. She helped anyone with a pattern they were stuck on. It was a fun experience to say the least. I would love to see another one for this year.
  12. to C'ville from the up north near McMinnville.
  13. Well I will direct you to two sites the Ami List and the Crochet Toy Chest ( link will not work for this, sorry). Just go to google and type in Crochet Toy Chest and it is the first one that comes up. I hope you find everything you need.
  14. Your doll is very cute! She makes me smile just looking at her. You did a very nice job.
