  1. Outside of Houston, near Galveston. Not close to Waco at all. Darn it all.
  2. Now there's an idea that will go well with the chili pepper theme. I do believe I will give those a go. Thanks.
  3. Thank you for that but darn, the picture wouldn't expose itself. I think I will try it and hope for the best.
  4. Thanks for the offer Buggaboosmommy, but alas, I do not sew. It's probably for the best, though. No telling what would happen to all those little pins and needles and how someone would find them, either stepping or sitting on them.
  5. Would love to get together with a group for some fabulous crochet time. I'm guessing I'm an Intermediate Beginner (although barely) and would like to be able to learn from the more experienced crocheters around.
  6. Ooh...pretty. I'll have to try those. My 11 year old would wear them.
  7. I came across a pattern that actually has two patterns on it, one in pink and one in blue (of course you can use any color!). I made one set and it was just adorable. It was my first time using thread and I still have one of the pink ones (not sure what happened to the other one ). If I can find it (just moved so everything is packed away) I'll try to pass along where I found it at.
  8. I don't recall what size my beading needles are but I do know they broke fairly easy. And I did have a heck of a time beading; I thought it would be so much easier once I got the needles, but I guess since the beads are little and it went on elastic thread (bracelet) it just took longer than I thought it would, but not nearly as long as without because it took me 30 minutes to string 2 beads before I gave up and went to get the needles in the middle of the night.
  9. Does anyone know of a pattern for chili peppers? Be it pot holders, dishcloth/scrubber, etc. My SIL's kitchen is in that theme and I thought I would like to make something useful using that theme. Ooh...a fridgie, maybe? Thanks.
  10. I'm still at the point where I can look at something that's crocheted and still not be able to tell what most stitches are, except for the shell and FP and BP (but not if it's HDFP/HDBP). If I had to make up something as I went along, well, let's just say it wouldn't be pretty.
  11. I hope after all this that you're invited to the christening. And that you get the credit when people ooh and ahh over it to the mom. Can't wait to see the finished outfit.
  12. Darn...the page won't show for me. I have grandchild #2 due in December so I'll have to wait as to the color(s) to use.
  13. Let's see...I don't know if this counts as staying up all night or not. I've actually dozed off during the "one more row" phase. And when I wake up, I start back up for a few more rows. Heck, I'm even holding my hook and yarn ready to do the next stitch. But usually the third time I doze off I figure I'd better get to bed.
  14. I checked the book out from the library. I believe I put it on order for two, maybe two and half months before it was my turn to check it out. Although I like it, it didn't have the stories like the Knit book did. But I just love the crochet jewelry in it.
  15. Yesssss!!! Thank you sooooo much. Gee, I don't recall the advertisements being with it before. Guess they're gonna try to get you no matter what. Thanks again.
  16. About this time last year I found a pattern for a heart-shaped crib pillow on a website (that I printed out). I made one for my granddaughter and it actually turned out really nice. I put a miniature Care Bear in the pocket as my daughter used the Care Bears theme for the crib set. Now that I want to make three more I can't find my pattern. I've moved since the first pillow and I'm missing a whole lot of patterns, yarn and hooks. If anybody knows of this pattern and can point me towards the correct website, I would greatly appreciate it. I have a niece due in a couple of months, my daughter's sister-in-law is due in June, and my pre-teen decided she wants a pillow in Aggie colors for her bed. Hmmm...and here I thought we were a Longhorn household. I just don't know where we went wrong...
  17. I used to live across the street from Baybrook Mall. Talk about traffic tie-ups in December! But I'm still in the area.
  18. Hey, that's my area! But there's no way I could get there until about 7:00 or 7:30. I'm at the mercy of the Bay Area Park & Ride schedule. LOL
