  7. Hi nik, i may not be able to help but willing to give it a go for you... in your int post you said you have aran wool, which suggests to use a No. 5 hook,.... and then you mentioned you are using a No. 10 hook???? is this what you have done.. ? If this is the case your tension will be way out.. the wool dosnt sound thick enough for a No. 10 hook. Maybe try using the Sirada wool you have chosen and try a No. 6 hook like the pattern suggests, see how that swatch pans out... I suffered the similar thing when i first started doing patterns... and i found. relaxing my back and shoulders while crocheting and wrapping the wool around my ring finger loosly twice helped with the tension... hope this helps x jude

  9. Hello Everyone, About me, I am 37 Years Young. I have 2 children aged 3 & 2. I am an Australian currently living in England and have been for the past 8 years, we are in the process of moving back home, and i cannot wait. I have been crocheting for many years, since i was about 8 i think. Ive never really followed any patterns. However in the last 4 years i have been teaching myself how to read and make patterns through the aides of books etc. I love trying new stitches. I am currently in the process of trying to design my own throws, scarfs, hats and bags. I love doing small projects as i hate it when i have more than one thing going at a time. Love looking through wool shops to find inspiration for designs and patterns. Happy Crafting xxxxx
