  1. Jimmie Lu, Thank you for the button.
  2. Welcome! Where in VT are you? I'm in the Burlington area.
  3. Hi Ladies! I unfortunately have bad news... The date for a large important family get together was chosen last weekend and, of course, it is the same Saturday of the conference. I really shouldn't miss this party so I had to cancel my reservations. I was really looking forward to the conference and meeting you all. Ah well, maybe next year. I'll definitely keep up with this thread so I can read all about it!

    Hello!

    Hello and Welcome to Crochetville!
  14. Hello and Welcome to Crochetville!
  15. I'm sure our table will grow as we get closer to the event. I'm still undecided about the classes. There didn't seem to be any that I just had to go to. And the less I spend on classes the more that goes in the yarn/gadget/oh, I have to have it! budget. I was thinking of getting something from the Cafe Press specifically for the convention too! My DH and DD are going to FL next week, but honestly I'm looking forward to this July trip more! A long weekend full of yarn and fellow crochet lovers vs. what could potentially be a very stressful week traveling with a 19 month old who typically doesn't travel well. Oh yeah, and we're staying with his parents, who are very nice, but they are still in-laws!
  16. I'd love to sit together at the dinner, Artemis! I'm staying at the Hampton across from the mall on DeKalb Pike, checking in on Thurs. and checking out on Sun. I work for Hilton (Hampton is a Hilton brand) so I get the employee rate. The group rate at the two hotels listed seems very reasonable although I'm not familiar with the properties. It's great that they are attached to the convention center, very convienent.
  17. Gram taught me when I was a kid but I don't remember finishing anything. I re-taught myself in 2001 and offered to make DH an afghan for my first project. He wanted a Rasta flag afghan. It is WW RH in dc and it took forever. But it was worth it, he loves it. It is nice and warm and huge - about 7'x4.5'.
  18. I'm still not sure about a class or two but I definitely want to go to the dinner on Saturday night. We could meet at the Cafe once we are inside the show. I cut and pasted 2 paragraphs from the site below.
  19. I love the design of the first bag, you should definitely try it again with the better wool. And your second bag is fantastic! Great job on the lining.
  20. Would I qualify as new to C'ville? I'd love a button if you are willing. Thanks!
  21. They finally posted the classes and more information about the weekend here. I'm not sure if I want to spend my money on classes or on yarn/hooks. A couple classes looked interesting to me. I definitely am going to the dinner/auction on Saturday night.
  22. Or take this graph and enlarge it so the afghan is one big square.
  23. What a beautiful color! It reminds me of tropical seas. Nice job!
