  1. I used two skeins of Red Heart Banana Berry for the set.
  2. This is my first show and tell! This is a poncho/ hat set that I made for my 8 year old neice for Christmas. I made the hat using a pattern on www.luv2crochet.com, but used the rosette pin pattern on the Lion Brand website to put on the hat. http://photobucket.com/albums/c231/ManfaMae/?action=view&current=emilysponchoandhat.jpg
  3. Did you also notice that one of the grandmas (Georgina, I think her name was) was actually crocheting when they showed her the first time? I didn't notice it until I saw the movie for the second time.
  4. I would love to crochet curtains for all the windows in my house. I was thinking about maybe having two rows of granny squares and using those little clip-on curtain thingies (I don't know what they are called- they have rings that you slide on your curtain rod and little clips to clip the fabric to the rings) to hold them up. I thought that would make a cute valance. I also saw the longer curtain pattern at http://www.crochetandknitting.com/curtains.htm which say you can use worsted weight yarn, but I'm afraid that something longer in worsted weight would stretch over time. What do you think?
  5. So, I'm making two ponchos- one for an 18 mo old and one for a 3 year old- by using this pattern: http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/Free/PA701_Min_%20Marthas_Coming_Home_Ponchos.pdf (The Mini-Martha Stewart Poncho). It has instructions for size 3, but not 18 mo. How would you adjust the pattern for the smaller size? The pattern calls for bulky weight yarn. Do you think it would work okay to use worsted weight? I have never blocked anything I've made before. Is it important to do this with a poncho? I'm new to making wearables and would appreciate any help I could get!
  6. Xtra Large 2ft x 1.7ft, 4 per box XXtra Large 2ft x 2.7ft, 3 per box Once you put your stash in the bags, how are you going to store the bags? I have big rubbermaid totes that I have stacked up in my guest room full of yarn. I wonder if the handles are strong enough to put over a clothing hanger and hang in the closet?
  7. I'd like to ask her if she is going to publish any patterns (especially the lampshade covers) and how she comes up with ideas.
  8. I LOVED her lamp shade covers that were featured on the show. I wonder if there is a pattern for them somewhere?
  9. Hey Y'all! My name is Samantha and I'm from NC and have been crocheting for about 20 years (but I'm only 29!). I've mostly crocheted afghans and scarves all my life, but I've been on the mood to branch out and try new things lately. I made my first wearables (a poncho and hat) over the weekend and I did pretty good if I do say so myself:D . I look forward to meeting new people and learning a lot from the Crochetville forums!
  10. I live in Winterville, NC- a small town outside of Greenville. I'm orginally from Morehead City though.
