  • Crocheting since...
learned when I was a kid, but didn't really start up again until about 2002
  1. I was talking to my sister earlier tonight, and I had a thought. She's going to get back with me on the details. Her husband is currently stationed in Afghanistan. She told me that it gets up over 100 during the day (I believe she said 120) and it gets down around 60 at night. She said that some of the men (her husband included) have quilts that were sent to them by a relative's church group. I don't know how to quilt, but I can crochet fairly decent. I want to send some afghans, and I wanted to know if anyone else wants in. I would like to send some for Christmas, but I know that's getting close already, so I just want to send some whenever I can. Like I said, she still has to get back with me on the details, so it could be a few days (or maybe a couple weeks before she can talk to her husband), but I wanted to know what people think, and if anyone wants in. I also plan on finding out about other things to send. Thanks, meggieB
  2. I've always just followed the pattern as written.
  3. I'm going to try to get one finished. I'll talk to my mom, my aunt, my neighbor, and anyone else I can think of to see if they can help too.
  4. Cass City. I used to work in Millington.
  5. I just showed your afghan picture to my husband. He LOVES it!! You did an awesome job!
  6. I tried doing the 2009 one, but I lost my job and things got kind of hectic. But I'm in for this one. I made a deal with my dad that if he quit smoking, I'd lose weight. And my sister and I are challenging each other to lose weight, too. Don't know yet what I'll crochet, but I'll figure it out.
  7. There is an older post floating around here somewhere. All walmarts are getting rid of their craft section completely. Mine already got rid of their fabric, and the yarn section is 1/3 of what it used to be. I have to drive about 45-60 minutes to get to Hobby Lobby (which I love) and about 45 minutes to Joanns. I'm not sure where the nearest Michaels is. I know there's one an hour from me. I think there might be one not far from Hobby Lobby. I'm going to be very upset when they get rid of the yarn.
  8. I'm supposed to be babysitting my little brother while my mom and step-dad go out and play cards or something. I know, it's sad. I'll be 26 in less than 2 weeks, and I have to babysit! But, I'm dragging my husband with me :devil My mom's computer is slow, but I'll see what I can do. I take my yarn with me everywhere, anyway!
  9. You know, I have a friend who would have loved that! She loves corsets. It would have been one of those 'disaster turned delightful' things! lol
