How about use a pretty "novelty" yarn with CroJulee's Angel Wings Shawl? It's a SUPER easy pattern! http://qualitycrochet4fun.blogspot.com/2008/07/angel-wings-shawl-pattern.html

Can you tell a difference between Sugar ‘n Cream and Peaches & Cream ?
MissRach replied to Tehcorc's topic in Crochet Yarn
I haven't had any opportunity to work with Sugar, but I have felt the two brands side by side in the store. And to me, Peaches is softer. -
ASSEMBLING: 8" Squares for Comfortghan
MissRach replied to thepunkrockinchick's topic in Crochet for Charity
I think I might be able to make a couple. What yarn do you want? (not colour, type) -
So tell me~do you crochet really fast?
MissRach replied to Titus2woman's topic in Crochet Discussion: Everything Else
I guess I'm pretty fast. That makes me happy, because I can do more! -

Testers Found for Earflat hat Pattern
MissRach replied to CroJulee's topic in Seeking Pattern Testers
I think I might be able to get a pic today, if I can get enough school done. I think the size issue may have something to do with the fact that we all have large heads in my family! -
Testers Found for Earflat hat Pattern
MissRach replied to CroJulee's topic in Seeking Pattern Testers
No, I didn't double check my guage. I've never needed to before! I always have gotten good results w/o it. I guess next time I will. As for the stitch count, I'm fairly sure it was fine. I am not 100% positive, tho. And I just used crummy old Red Heart. Actually not so crummy. It turned out cute, tho! Someone I know will be thrilled to get it come Thanksgiving! -
Though the scarf is lovely and finished, the camera isn't working right now. Ack! I'm sorry!

Testers Found for Earflat hat Pattern
MissRach replied to CroJulee's topic in Seeking Pattern Testers
Julee, I finished the hat, and it's DARLING. Unfortunately, like I said to Chris, our camera is out of commisions right now! I don't know how soon it can be fixed, either. I'm sorry! The pattern was pretty much easy and understandable. However, my H hook turned out a head that barely fits a size 6T little girl! -
Poco the Longhorn & Horse * Pattern Is Ready*
MissRach replied to Chiscrochetcrazy's topic in Patterns-for-Sale Links
Mr. Skooshy (as he was promptly named by my younger siblings) is completed. But now the camera is out of commision! I feel like one of the flakes who never fulfills her swap obligations! -
Blind Moment, need your eyes!
MissRach replied to brendaKbrown's topic in Crochet Discussion: Everything Else
The head is slightly like a slice of pizza, if you know what I mean. But the round part (that attaches to the body) is a little more angular, and the front part is not as pointy as a slice of pizza. Does that make sense? Maybe a rounded diamond is a better way to describe it! (I hope I'm making sense; this is the first time I have tried to describe something for a blind person!) -

Renni: that sounds like a very pretty snake. If only they weren't so dangerous! -
Boy, do I know about that! I had a WIP and I lost the hook, so I put the WIP away. Later, I was photographing my WIPs and stash for Ravelry. Lo and behold: the hook was stuck in the WIP's skein of yarn! What an idiot I felt like! Anyhow, I hope you find your hook. I too have a favorite Susan Bates H hook. It's pale pink and one of my friends gave it to me before we moved. I just recently found it after I misplaced it, so I know what you mean!

'Xactly. For example, I can crochet just about anything with a standard hook. But give me an afghan stitch or broomstick lace pattern, and I am LOST! Couple more ideas: 1. Afghan stitch beginners' 2. Broomstick lace beginners' -
*sweeping curtsey* My pleasure, m'lady!

How much is an Earflap Hat worth?
MissRach replied to CroJulee's topic in Teaching, Designing & Selling Crochet
I would say even up to $30 is reasonable. -
Aww! I wish I knew how! Would a nice big shawl help? I have some RAOK Homespun at the post office waiting to be picked up and I could make you a "hug" wrap!
-
I'm sorry no one was able to join! I'd love to too, but I already have a lot on my plate. Maybe when it's finished it will inspire us to do one!

Ooh, my guess is go for it. I have read SOOO many raves about it! Of course, right now I am impatiently waiting for two balls of SOYSILK's Love yarn: 70% bamboo, 30% silk!
-
No problem! I wanted it myself!

I found the pattern! I was going through CPC's shawls when I found it!!!! http://*****************/web/20071016125346rn_1/www.womansday.com/home/6718/summers-coolest-accessory.html Okay, I can't direct link, it seems. Use this link: http://crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/shawls_etc.php Then his Ctrl + F and type in "Rose Filet Shawl" w/o the quotes. That should work! It's about half-way down the page on the right column if you would rather scroll.
