A Few Things About Me

  • Location
  • Hobbies
    crocheting, baking, cake decorating
  • Occupation
  • Crocheting since...
    on and off for years
  1. My mom showed me a few things when I was about 10 but I taught myself the rest with a book and the 'net
  2. Thanks again ladies The one for hubby is all DC. My daughter insisted the pink be added to his afghan. I kept teasing him saying that I had a whole skien of pink that I could use and he said no way. Jordan(6) asked me to sneek some in since it's her favorite color. She thinks it's so funny and everytime I'm working on it she hides that part so he can't see it. She wants it to be a surprise
  3. Oh my goodness... I LOVE that blanket!! You did a great job. This would be perfect for my new niece or nephew
  4. Ladies I'm sorry I'm just now getting back to this. School started so I've been busy with my daughter. The pattern for Charlie's blanket is a V stitch with a sc boarder. Joseph's blanket is the pattern on the Pound of Love label minus the hood. I also made that blanket a little longer then the pattern. The white blanket and my daughters rainbow blanket are off the Project Linus site. It's called Sideways Shell Baby Afghan (aka Newbie Shell Afghan). All the blankets were very easy and only took about a week to do.
  5. I'm still kinda new to crocheting so I've stuck to blankets. These are a few of the ones I've made this year. Nothing compared to work I've seen here but these have made my kids and friends happy. (Click on the picture to see the rest.)
  6. I came across this site a few weeks ago and figured I should register and stop lurking. I am Stacey, SAHM to 2, Jordan is 6 and Matthew is almost 4. My mom showed me a few basic crochet stitches when I was about 10 but I never made anything. I started teaching myself again last year but still never made anything. A few months ago I picked up a "how to" book and ever since I've been making blankets for family and friends. I have a few more blankets that I have to make but after those are done I'm going to concentrate on making blanket for the children's hospital in L.A. My daughter has JRA so we're down there often. I know how much Jordan loves her blanket and it's help comfort her through so much. I want to give that to other children who are sick/hurt and scared. Anyway, I'm in total awe seeing the work some of you ladies do. I can only hope to be as good as you are one day!
