Houston Holocaust Museum - Butterflies needed
kenfreck replied to happy stitcher's topic in Crochet for Charity
according to the Holocaust Museum website they have reached their goal of 1.5 MILLION butterflies but will continue to collect until June 30, 2013 as many have campaigns or drives for butterflies still going on. Just wanted to share. -
you can make a 4" X 4" granny square with a size "H or 8" crochet hook with 4 ply yarn.

here is their facebook page, if anyone wants to "like" them. They post all updates and deliveries there. https://www.facebook.com/Mollysbabiesinc

I just read up on Menkes Disease. I really feel for the families with sons afflicted with this disorder. I had never heard of a disease that just affects one gender over another. What kind of hats are you looking for? Are you looking for hats for both genders? I'm sure I can whip some up once I know what color palette to choose from.

Let me know what name was on the return address and I'll shoot them an email to see what's up.

That is so awesome, Ratdog. I know they will love them and some lucky boy or girl will get a new baby/stuffie to love with their very own blanket.
-
Thank you Ratdog. I know they will appreciate them. Be sure to include your full name and mailing addy in the package. They do send out tax receipts for your donations.

Molly's Babies takes gently used dolls & teddy bears, cleans them up, fixes their hair, and then crochets outfits for them. Some dolls & teddy bears will also go with their own blankets, when available. Molly's Babies is a non-profit organization that needs help with doll blankets, hats, outfits, booties, bibs etc. and 4 inch squares (knit or crochet). Square colors are greens, blues, pinks, purples, reds, yellows, or a combination. pretty much any square will work...for boy's and girls. Doll blankets--large enough to cover a normal size doll Doll size bibs, hats, booties, outfits or gowns. You can get a good idea of the size of the dolls and learn how this all began on the website. http://mollysbabies.org/ One does not have to send a bunch of things. Even one bib or hat or square will help immensely. The mailing address is on the website or you can message me and I'll send it out to you. They are located in Connecticut.

Hats & More for Boston area 2013 Coat Distribution
kenfreck replied to Beth Pitard's topic in Crochet for Charity
I'm in New Hampshire and will gladly make hats for you. I like helping as local as possible. -
Glad I could help in some small way.

I'm loving all the pictures of items you have received and notice that many are "girly" colors. I have some "manly" colored hats to send. Just need an address.
