Coats & Clark Patterns Disappeared
dmandy replied to ReniC's topic in Crochet Discussion: Everything Else
I also saw it about two weeks ago & did email them. They answered that they were doing some work and that things would be back to normal and they were. donna Marie -
The reason for the differnt numbers is that the hat must come in different sizes. Usually the first number is for the small size, next number for meduim and the last for large. Row 6 you will work the same number of stitches as row 5. Row 7 increase by 6 stitches. Row 8 work the same number of stitches as row 7. You keep doing this until you get the number of stitches you need for your size. Then work that number of stitches in each row until the hat is the size you want. Donna Marie

Try looking for a vintage woman's hat. These aren't free patterns but they give you an idea of what to look for. http://www.amazon.com/Belts-Vintage-Accessory-Patterns-Crochet/dp/1936049155/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266555164&sr=8-12 http://cgi.ebay.com/Robin-Hood-Style-Hat-1935-Vintage-Crochet-Pattern-Easy-_W0QQitemZ130364033254QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20100203?IMSfp=TL100203191014r13433 Donna Marie

Yes it will take a lot of work sewing the squares together. This will be a long term project for me. I don't mind the joining because i use it to take a break when i've done a lot of crocheting. Donna Marie

I think this pattern will work. http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=2529

This afghan just took my breath away. It's not mine so I have no idea where the pattern is, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. http://picasaweb.google.com/suekbee/Crochet#5162226025494665682 For some reason, this link may just take you to the main page. The afghan I'm talking about is the green mitered square, #31. Donna Marie

If you do the first three rowws of this pattern, you will have the same motif as the japanese scarf. http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Crochet/Projects/AfghansThrows/WR2002+Natures+Inspiration+Throw.htm Donna Marie
