  1. I think nr is an abbreviation for number. Here's a link to Yarn forward's hook conversion chart http://www.yarnforward.com/crochetconv.html According to the chart a U.S 3/D hook is 3.25mm, but the U.K. 3 hook is 6.5mm or U.S. K.
  2. Here are some links to yarn conversion charts http://www.knitting-naturally.com/yarn-comparison-chart.html http://karpstyles.com/yarn_conversion.html
  3. Here's one for convertible mittens http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/461189/irish_rose_convertible_mittens_crochet.html?cat=46
  4. I didn't have any trouble downloading the document to my computer, so I'm at a loss. It's one document that includes 4 patterns and assembly instructions for pillowghans. To save it, I clicked on the Save icon at the top of the document and to print just the instructions for the pineapple pattern, I scrolled down and selected the pineapple pattern, clicked on the printer icon and selected Print Current Document to print just the 2 pages of that pattern. Hope you find this helpful. Here's the link to Priscilla's home page http://priscillascrochet.net/ The pattern is in a document called pillowghans.
  5. Priscilla's website has a 12 inch pineapple square http://priscillascrochet.net/free%20patterns/Pillowghans.pdf this is more utilitarian than the regency square and could be made larger by using a bigger hook.
  6. You might find this site helpful to determine what weight yarn you should use discontinued Yarn charts - it lists many of the vintage yarns with descriptions of weight, fiber content and recommends hook/needle sizes. http://www.vintageknits.com/yarncharts.html
  7. I also like the shaped shawls for wheelchair patients. Lion brand has several of them that can be made in a variety of weights the half moon shawl (I've made this one...it's simple and looks quite pretty) the emily shawl the elspeth shawl the southbay shawlette Using their pattern finder brings up 91 results. And, doris chan's all shawl can be found on ravelry
  8. found two for the AG dolls http://www.worldinaspin.com/patterns/doll_poncho http://www.crochetnmore.com/dollponcho.htm
  9. http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf14352445.tip.html here's one for a barbie bedroom set.
  10. This pattern could easily be made shorter....seems a simple mesh pattern. scroll down past the sewing instructions to instruction for crocheting gauntlet. http://www.nadyas-sewing-instructions.de/englisch/e-stulpen.htm These two are shorter and not goth but are the only other ones I have come across. http://woolly-knit-bits.blogspot.com/2009/05/june-cal-surfer-rosa-mitts.html http://www.crochetnmore.com/fingerlessbridalglove.htm
  11. Found a thread here that has some info on the pattern....seems it was published in Crochet World in 2005. http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13269 The link below is not exactly paper dolls.....but it is free...it's to happy yellow house's "we're all God's children" crochet quilt. http://happyyellowhouse.com/htm/kids.html

    homespun

I find when working with homespun (and I really like it...wonderfully soft), I have good results when using inline hooks such as those made by Susan Bates. Boye hooks have a tapered shaft that always "catches" the yarn and splits it. Here's a link explaining the difference: http://www.karpstyles.com/crochet/Types-of-hook.html (scroll to the bottom of the page.)
  13. there is a free one of the Lion brand site called Reversible shell blanket/carriage cover http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/patternFinder.fcgi?search=Search&searchText=reversible+shell+blanket
  14. Sorry about that. I also saved it and the first page contains the terms of agreement, but in the left hand margin of that page is a list of the crochet patterns contained in the file. The fashion doll ballet costume.pdf is the second in the list. Just click once on the file name and it will take you to the pattern instructions. Hope this helps.
  15. Here's a link to a Priscilla Hewitt fashion doll ballet costume http://priscillascrochet.net/free%20patterns/Kid%20Stuff.pdf Here's a link to her free pattern index page http://www.priscillascrochet.net/freepatterns.html the ballet costume was in the kid stuff category.
