  1. The need is so great - I'm on the South Jersey Shore (near Atlantic City) - we had no damage - but AC and surrounding areas are devastated. Our group is collecting hats & scarves to donate to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. It turned really cold today.
  2. I used to hide it - now it is out in the open - all over the house - it definitely is cheaper than therapy - I actually crochet afghans for hospice patients so I needs lots and lots of yarn. NEVER pass up a great sale especially using coupons
  3. Welcome - spent a lifetime in Brooklyn - Park Slope - Bensonhurst & Kensington/Windsor Terrace - retired to Galloway, NJ 5 years ago. Love it - miss Brooklyn - but can't live there again.
  4. I am almost finished making the rectangle granny afghan. I am using up lots of my scraps. I crochet for a hospice group. My husband had received a red - white - blue afghan from the hospice group because he was a veteran. He loved it and constantly used it as he was always cold.

    Scrap Afghans

I am trying not to buy any new yarn until I can get a better handle on my stash. Made these 2 scrap afghans for Holy Redeemer Hospice here in Atlantic Co., NJ
  6. Made this Teddy Bear Filet Afghan - not sure what I am going to do with it - probably a future gift. I just love bears.
  7. Hi and Welcome - I was born and raised in Brooklyn - retired to South Jersey 6 years ago. I will always be a Brooklyn girl.
  8. I got goosebumps reading about your find - better than Christmas morning.
  9. Hats for next winter - a couple of scarves for the soldiers in Afghanistan for next winter - a shawl for hospice care. That should keep me entertained.
  10. I just ordered the pattern - can't wait to make it
  11. That is absolutely gorgeous
  12. Love the pillow - the basketweave pattern is so pretty - but it sure eats up a lot of yarn.
  13. Receiving someone's stash or finding a great bargain at an estate sale or thrift shop is like a kid in a candy store.
