  1. That's what I said on 09/12 post. Glad you know where it is.
  2. katyallen8090: I hear you on the first time I had the aura. I literally freaked out. Poor ol' hubby didn't know what to do for me. Mary Jo: I am so impressed with the quality of the afghan for your BIL. The colors are so rich. Today was not real eventful. I did finally get to go and get a haircut- Yay! The stylist is still only allowing 1 customer at a time in her shop and of course, masks to be worn. Then I went to the gift shop that's in the local True Value store. I love this store! They have so many beautiful items (albeit some things are pricey). I found a music box for my daughter's birthday and a couple of knick-knacks I'm sure she'll love for her new house. I was going to try to go to the grocery store, but, I was just pooped out. So, when I got home, I took a nap- LOL! This evening I'll just crochet for awhile then read a little. Hope all have a very relaxing evening. See ya!
  3. Not much going on in this neck of the woods. I finished the cat toys (except for one pair of eyes) for my GS's 2 kittens. The 2 pair that I embroidered on makes them look like zombie mice- LOL. I may just glue on some little plastic eyes on the 3rd one. Last night I finally started on the drawstring bag for my Grt-GD to go in the Treasure Box. I couldn't find the scrap colors I wanted so I'm using a variegated and a lavender. Hope it works. Today when my daughter comes over, I'm teaching her some techniques with acrylic paints. I'm looking forward to it as I haven't painted in a couple of years and it should be fun as my GD is joining us. Lots of clouds, but no rain here. Dry as the desert can get and then some. Even my ocotillos look stressed, and they're used to draught! Have a lovely day as much as possible. See ya!
  4. Yea- those migraines can be stinkers. It was wise of you to go back home. My mother and younger brother had migraines something awful. Especially my brother. I've had them hit a couple of times when I was driving and had to pull over because of the aura until it was gone. I can't even crochet, or do anything for that matter sometimes when I get one. The meds help but, I hate taking them. The medical/science community is just now really starting to touch base with how they work.

    Side Bar of the HDC?

Welcome to the "Ville. I have to say, I've not heard of a hdc into side bar. A front loop or a back loop hdc yes. Is there not an explanation of stitches in the front or back of the pattern? Also, do you have a link to the pattern or name of the resource the pattern is in? That would help. Maybe one of our other experienced members knows this stitch.

  7. Good (late) morning: Pineknott: I hope tonight is a more restful sleep for you. Grab those naps when you can. I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. My oldest DD comes by every day to check on me and do a little of the (heavy duty) housecleaning for me that I'm not allowed to do anymore. I'm so blessed to have a loving and caring DD. Now I look for easy things for me to do to keep active. I know I'll be doing some crocheting off and on. One more mouse to make for my GS's kittens, then something more for the Treasure Box for the kiddies. I gave my neighbor some #10 crochet thread and a pattern link for a Halloween doily. She is so excited to make it. She decorates her house for every holiday and season and her front yard always looks amazing. She already has pumpkins and a scarecrow on her front patio. So cute. Hope everyone has a splendid day.
  8. Awe, I'm sorry you have to re-do. Sometimes that's so frustrating, other times, lesson learned. Thank you for the pattern location. I have that book somewhere in my maze of books. Hope you enjoy the day.
  9. For some time now I attach a locking stitch marker and alpha bead with the hook size on the beginning corner of the project. I can't count how many times this has saved me since I don't keep my hooks with all my WIP's. (not my photo)
  10. Really- That far back to frog? I think it's pretty. Which book of Patricia K's is that in? I have 3 of them but I don't think I have this particular one.
  11. How cute is that? Love it. I know a 5 year old who will love this. ETA: Forgot to say thank you. 😊
  12. Doing well here today. I had a blasted migraine for over 2 days but the Rx's do help and I'm finally free of it today. They sure can be scary sometimes. I've had this yarn sitting under my studio counter-top since the week before CV-19 hit. I have no clue what pattern to use yet. The blueish one will be the border to match the new quilt set I bought. Some day it'll click- I hope.
  13. Good Morning. That is a very pretty blanket. I've never seen it before though. Do you still have a link where the photo came from? This is the only rose afghan I know of that's similar but made with a J/ Afghan Hook.
  14. Good Morning: Not too many people I've seen online like the Homespun, but, there are several other choices which is great for all of us. And especially me; I'm such a yarn junkie! LOL Which is weird for me since I haven't crocheted in about 4 days. Whaaaat? Hope you're feeling better today.
  15. Homespun: I made this for my friend that passed from cancer. Her daughter told me she loved it used this throw exclusively because it was so soft. The color is Tudor. (Sorry, it's not one of my best photos)
  16. That's okay. Not many I know like to crochet or knit mittens. I haven't in years. Then how about a stuffed animal? (Be sure to scroll all the way down if interested) Or a dog sweater? Or crochet a bed runner? I made a runner out of Homespun for the back of my toilet. Turned out nice and goes with my décor perfect.

    3 Pumpkins

Good Morning Diana: If you're referring to the pumpkin on the left, I'm sure it was an old Red Heart brand I had some leftover from way back. The closest they have now is called Stripes- Fall. ETA: Oops- my mistake. It was Caron Simply Soft- Paints- Sunset Autumn. I believe it might be a discontinued color.
  18. Red Heart Super Saver has a variegated called Fall. JoAnn's carries it online. Maybe that would work. Oh! And don't forget blue corn.
  19. If you are making for donations, how about mittens? This no frills pattern is in 3 sizes that might work well. All is pretty good here. Sunday's my daughter and SIL cook and serve dinner for me. Yesterday she made Chicken Pot Pies that was the best I ever had. So good. She cleans the kitchen too- How blessed am I! She comes by every single day to check on me and also helps me clean my house. I think she made a promise to my husband before he passed away to help me as much as possible but she wouldn't admit that. I finished a stuffed mouse (except the eyes) for my GS's new kittens. I'm not sure about the eyes, I may just embroider them on. I thought I'd make a few for him then get back to my Treasure box for the Grt-GK's. The weather finally settled down here. We had a few days in the 70's and 50's at night (What!?) now it's back to the mid-90's. So strange. We can tell that Fall is almost here in the evenings. Then it's back to making afghans for me! Hope all have a great day! ReniC
  20. Please let me know how big it is. I may have to make some for my Treasure box for the G-grand kids.
  21. Talk about stuffing: My GD is staying with me for a little while and her Pitbull is the same- she's a shredder!. She takes every toy my GD buys her and pulls the stuffing and the squeaker out of every single one. Must be a Pitbull thing. She is a cutie though. I didn't think I'd like this breed because I've had small dogs the past 35+ years, and of course their reputation, but I was so wrong. She also watches me crochet. Maybe she thinks what I'm making is for her. LOL
  22. Diana: That's going to be such a cute bear!
